someone said i should break the stalk...

I was told by one of my friends that i was supposed to stake the plants down and break the stalk in some manner... now i am just writing this thread to see if anyone knows what my buddy is talking about, i havent done anything nor do i intend to, but i am just curious if i should consider a move like that.... these are outdoor

I would not break the stalk. The only thing I can see this doing is stunting the growth. maybe he meant bending the stem. Research LST growing (Low Stress Training) or topping the plant. Don't break the stalk!

you COULD break the stalk, not recommended for someone who hasn't been growing for maybe 3 seasons or more though.
