u were feeding it to much nitrogen nitrogen in high levels in flowering give u leafy buds.,.,that herb is gona hurt up ya head.,.,hash is gona be the best thing to do with those buds imho.,.,but u live and learn

he said he hadnt used any nutes at all. so i would hae to believe he used either poor soil, the plants rootbound, or just poor aeration to the roots.

Very late reply, but well... it all ended up being a mystery so i chopped half of it and it was some good smoke. Pain in the ass to manicure so halfway in the process i just made it into butter and made a great tray of brownies...

Stuff that could have prevented this:
Medium: clay correls, perlite, vermaculite, soil quality, a thin layer of clay correls in the bottom
Bucket/pot: better bottom holes or lifted holes to makes the water run of easier.
ofc nutes allways helps, if u dont want chemicals or u just cheap u can just pee in something until its 1/10th full and filll up the rest with water, shake it and use that water with it once a week or so. works great.
