Soil volume question

Here are the stats..
1 foot tall plant currently
1/2 gal containers currently
We finish outdoors here in late October
I have almost three months to veg before 2 months of flower

Given my stats, how much soil volume would you allow this plant, on this time frame, in order to maximize yeild but without being to generous.
I am asking here because I want to utilize my material best I can without over doing it.

If you dont wanna overdue it roll with a 50 gallon even upto 100. those 200+ are for the pros who know whats up.

More like 2 months of veg. Flower should start in August and stretch through anywhere in October. It takes longer to flower outdoors under the natural light cycle. 12/12 indoors speeds things up.

Anyway I wouldn't go smaller than 20 gallons. Is it just one plant? If it's just one I'd go big like 50-100 to make it worth your while. Soil volume is everything in an outdoor grow.

It's three plants and I already have 150 gallons prepped for them. I've been planning on 50 gallons each but just wanted to make sure that that amount wasn't going to be too much for my time line.
If they needed more it was just going to be "tough titty" cause that's all the soil I've got mixed up
