Soil transplant into DWC question?

HI,

I have a question for you.

I have a clone recently rooted in soil mix. I have now decided to run a DWC grow and I am wondering if I can tranplant this strong clone from the soil medium into perlite OR should I just let the roots grow through and out of the soil/pot and down into the tank?

I don't want to shock the cuttting but I'm wondering if I let the roots develop through the pot and down into the tank if its likely to cause any issues later?

My instinct tells me not to try to transplant her into perlite but rather to just let those roots grow through, its only a 4" pot shes in anyway atm.

Any thoughts on this is appreciated. I have grown DWC in the past so I'm ok with that its just making this decision on how to start this clone.

Thanks in advance :-)

cut the bottom off of the pot so the roots can grow through,
then put the pot on a rockwool slab or something and let the roots grow through that into your system.
i was watching a canna dvd the other day and this is how they go from rooted clones in a small pot to blooming plants on a slab in a hydro system.
since it was a canna dvd, it was all coco, but i would imagine this would work with almost any medium.

Thanks DubRules :-) That makes sense to me. It's given me an idea. Like it.
