Soil question

I grew a plant for about 5 months in miracle grow soil. (I know, I don't care.)
The plant made it to harvest, but she looked sickly when I harvested. Too much nutes. Major burn.

The question: would the first plant have used up most of the nutrients? If I grew another plant in that soil, would I have more success?

If that soil now has the right amounts of everything your plant needs, you will do great! If it doesn't, you won't. I'm betting on the latter.

Id amend it a little with some pre cooked soil and go again.

The problem is miracle grow soil and others like it have time release fertilizer in it. When it goes, anybody's guess. Usually the nitrogen breaks down last..aka in flower period. Exactly when you don't want it to. You need to find a properly amended soil. You also need to flush your plant with plain pH water for about 2 weeks before harvest.

And yes, if the "timed release nutes" are gone, the soil is just soil. No reason not to use it.

Garbage in, garbage out. If you insist on growing plants in crap soil you'll get crap plants.

It really depends on the amount of time and water that has run though your soil. If u went a full grow and used every nutient from your last one, your soil is just a place holder for roots. It's basically coco coir without it's benefits or dwc basket with plain water running through it. Now for your question. If you used up all the nutients what is the benefit of reusing the soil? If that's the case your gonna have to start feeding nutes to ur baby right away!....also come to think of it are you indoor or outdoor? You never specifically said... I strongly recommend you remove the miracle grow, cut your loses and learn and use a properly amended soil for your next crop. You will not be disappointed
