Soil question !!! MG OC? Or MG OC+Compost+Perlite

I am about to buy a plastic storage cabinet from home depot and Im about to by my 400W HPS/MH Apollo light hang it from the top basically add all the fans/ Mylar and stuff later.
I want to use MG Organic Soil mixed with some perlite and then just grow from seedling to full flowerin adult. my question is will MG organic Choice be good for vegging till i get them as tall as i want then when i induce flowering add my nutrients and not have to worry about my soil after that. My big issue is the bag says feeds up to 2 months. That makes it seem to me like it wont last.

Now is my other soil which would be the MG Organic Choice+perlite+Compost i have been collecting. WOuld this soil choice be better?

DON'T USE MG! It's a universal plant based medium, but that doesn't mean that ur cannabis plants are going to like it. Go get some FF soil such as light warrior or happy frog. You will be better off.

What is the best way to mix FF OF? I always mix the OF with HF 50-50. I'll add in extra perlite and extra earth worm castings. I also throw in 2 cups dolomite per bag. A big dash of bat poop. It works pretty well. I keep my ph in the 6.4-6.7 range. Always use half strength FF nutes. Sometime some strains burn a little bit.

My past 3 grows I have used the MG Moisture control, and the last 2 grows been adding about 40% MG Perlite also with no probs with burning like many complain of.
I even start feeding around the 21 or 25 day from sprout mark.

Regardless of what you use, I would suggest adding about 1/2 cup of Dolomite Lime per cu. ft. of soil to keep your PH in check, although I haven't had any problems with mine, but my tap comes out at almost 8.0

What is your specific bad experience w/MG soil? You ever even try it?

My plants obviously like it fine.

Can you describe your nute schedule if you do feed your plants anything additional? Timing of feedings? That would simplify things. Have any nice budshots of plants grown in MG soil? This would be cool. Everyone has always said to never grow in MG soil. I am in the herd.

That was fun Great info over there. I suggest visiting it . My beer was a pint of Sam Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout. My smoke was BKxSSK that a friend just finished curing. Awesome taste and great effect. Thanks for sending me there.

There are multiple ways to drop your pH, including Aluminum Sulfide, but a great and organic way that works instantly is to top dress your plants with peat, peat has a naturally low pH, and if it drops it down too much, you can just remove it from the surface of the plants. It's also a great mulch to keep your outdoor plants from drying out!

I've seen some awful terrible MG grows, I've also seen some excellent ones. My buddy did his first few in backyard dirt, MG soil, Molasses and just one part of Flora Nova, don't remember if it was A or B. Either way, he made some amazing nugs, I got the pleasure of smoking them and was soooo jealous he spent so little and got such great product. This isn't always the case with everyone, and usually for beginners I would recommend something that is well-known for making great pot.

Whatever soil you get, it's important to test and experiment, because no mix you buy out of the bag will be anywhere near perfect for a whole grow. Subcool posts often here on RIU and even posts his super soil recipes. It would be something great for you to try out in the future or as a science project on the side.
