soil hydro??

Thats kinda pointless... Hydroponics is all about planting in a SOIL-LESS medium.
Plus I don't really see any benefits to the plant, since all nutrients will be added to the reservoir in any case.

If you try it and it works out, let us know!

The problem with using soil or a peat-based medium is that the medium can harbor bugs and mold and would stay far too wet. Clay pellets will dry out in a matter of hours and are innately resistant to molds and pests which is why a medium like that is preferred.

Plus, you run the risk of clogging something up should some dirt medium get into the res area.

im tryin it out. i think of it as..... its in soil so its got its nutes from there. i water like ounce a week because of the water in the res. takes work off the grower. the soil gets to a dry point so air can get to the roots so its not to wet. it will never get root bound cuz the roots grow into the water like hydro. the water pump is pumping bubbles right on the roots. its workin out pretty good i would have to say.
