soil help?

first time grower with bad luck so far.first seedling was 4 days in soil w/released nutes.plant was burning, so i transplanted to a seedling starting soil and it died.what is a good soil to use without nutes?thnx

It's probably not so much nute-fortified soil that is your problem, but rather the soil you have in particular. I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with Fox Farm potting soil.
