Soil Help!

Where I live the nurseries (garden) only have mixed soil that they fertilized themselves. They said they used 19,10,0. I just popped a white widow seed and need a medium fast. I always heard miracle grow sucks so this soil is all I have. So I am thinking of putting the soil under my bathtub and leaching all the fert out. Will this work?? how long will it take??

You are going to all that trouble to get a good grow medium madness.Dude just buy the cheepest compost you can get.Once you have done this then get the seed going by soaking it in water for 24 hours ph the water first 5.5 with a drop of multithrive in.Then have two tea saucers the same size put toilet roll on one of them fold it over a few times so it forms a cusion for the seed.After the seed has been soaking for the lenth of time i said take it out it may have allready split.If the seed has allready split and the seed has a tail showing then forget the toilet roll method just put under the surface of a cube[rockwool] or soil.But make sure that the seed is just under the surface it should show in a couple of days but if not don't worry it will.Keep the soil moist wet the soil with water ph of 5.5 and some multithrive in.Once the seed is in the grow medium put it under lights cfl's are perfect for this use 1 warm and 1 cool both daylight spec.Have the daylight one has close to the top of the grow medium has possible and the warm one a little higher to provide the heat needed to get the seed to come along.A propagator is the best thing to put the seed into now but if it is in a pot then cover the top with clingfilm.Put a couple of pin pricks in it so there is heat been moved around the top of the soil.If you are useing a cube tear a small piece of the bottom and put it over the hole that was made for the seed.Don't put the seeds to deep again the deeper planted the longer it will take to come through.Good luck keep green tyke....................

seed depth should be 2 seeds (laying sideways) deep, rootlet pointed down.
