i enjoy a mixture of peat moss and perlite about 20$ gets you 5cubic feetish, i'm sure wally world has some other fine soil products, just be wary of miracle grow ones....

I started out the exact same way you did. I'm sure it can be done, but remember to get a soil PH tester, remember that you might be running into problems like spider mites, which i'm pretty sure no wally world products cam safely address. I totally wish you the best of luck and do keep us updated on this! I'm really interested to see how it goes!

First try this link and see if someone near you sells Pro Mix, if they do get the green bag, organic mix. $8 a bag.

http://www.premierhort.com/eProMix/index.htm

If you have to get soil at walmart, make sure it says safe for seedlings on the package. A lot of soils add fertilizers to themix and some dont say on the package so the only way to be sure is if it says safe for seedlings. After your plants are a month old they should be old enough to be transplanted into the other soils if you wish. Otherwise a weak solution of hydro nutes is usually the standard to mix with. Since you want to use Walmart you'll have to see what they carry. Since it will probably be strong I'd start at 1/4 strength nutes to see how it goes, once again after a month, use straight water for the first 4 weeks. Hope that helps you out.

Looks like they changed things, it doesn't list the place i get mine from anymore, so it's probably best to email them and ask where in your area you can purchase.

Where you'll find it is in a quality greenhouse that is not a chain store, call around different greenhouses in your area and ask if they sell Pro Mix, they will know what you are talking about because it is the soil they will use for all the plants in the greenhouse.

The #-#-# number is what is listed for fertilizer and I haven't seen it listed on soil mixes. You'll have to read thru threads or get someone to answer what to use because I use organic hydro nutes, so I have no idea what you will find at walmart.

On the soil mix make sure it says safe for seedlings and you are good to go. As you start reading the bags you'll soon realize there aren't many that say that or you'll find some labeled as seedling mix. that's what you want.

Hey bro I advise you get soil from a hydro shop or a gardening center, it could be cheaper and better quality if you look hard enough.

I've heard great things about Promix.

Get soil that has a higher Nitrogen mixture(Ex:15-10-10) since for the vegatative state the plants will thrive on nitrogen.

After the first 3-4 weeks when the plants have gotten their first set of true leaves, add like 1/4th strength nutrients to your water mixture, and water every other day.

DON'T overfeed! It's always better to underfeed than overfeed and get nutrient burn.

Cheers :)

the #-#-# is called NPK, the first is the amount of nitrogen, the second number si phosphorus and the third number is potassium.
