SOG Question

Hey everyone, SOG question today. I liked my last SOG test grow using KC Brain Danky Doodle using 600 watt vented hood, 2 gal smart pots and good soil mix. The previous grow was only four plants among some KC36 -Strawberry cough strain I crossed, so I am going with 12 pots this time. Can I run the MH light like at 50% for MH veg stage then go 75% using HPS throughout the flowering cycle? I am just thinking that small of area and roughly 24" high plants I wouldn't need warp speed. I would like to add that I tried using two 26 watt UVB reptile bulbs for the middle four hours of the 12/12 flowering and had some really dank buds. The extra power (25%) won't break the budget but with some other lights going for Fem seed experimenting that little bit of savings helps. Thanks.

A 600w at 75% is a 400w. Doing a sog grow, penitration power wouldn't be an issue so it's just a matter of coverage. At 400w, you can cover a maximum space of 4x4 in flower. If your grow area isn't any larger, you should be good. At 50%/250w, I would think you can only cover a maximum of a 3x3 area even in veg. Ofcourse your going to get less lumens reaching the outer edges, but this could be compansated for by rotateing you plants on a daily basis. Worst case, your buds might not be as dense as they could be useing full power. I suppose it comes down to a choice, density or saveing electricity. I'd say try it and see how it gos. Good luck and happy growing.

I don't understand the question?

SOG is when you take clones and flower them as soon as they have a root system. So I don't know why you would have a MH.
Were talking, a couple of cfls for a mother and clones, and a HPS. Theres no MH in there. You can fit 4 16oz soda bottles per sqft. So under the HPS, you should have 20-30 clones yielding 14-28 grams a pop.

That's a SOG. Idk WTF you're doing....

As I understand the sog concept, you can either have 0 veg. time or veg. for a short period. The idea (to me atleast) is to keep them short and untrimmed.
