Hi everyone hope everyone on this forum is doing great!

Time for my third grow which is gonna be photoperiods only in a 4x4 tent using a 600 watts aircooled hood. I have 14 seeds of different strains that have been germinated then put in solo cups and under the light so far only 3 have sprouted out of the 14 seeds but Im guessing all 14 will do hopefully!

Now my question is what would you guys do to get fairly fast grow with a heavy yield!! Which is important I need the most medicine but who doesnt haha

Friends have suggested to do the (sea of green) method so all 14 plants in 1 gallon pots veg for a month then switch to flower

Other friends suggested mainlining and a fewer plants but bigger pots

And Im just so confused and wanted to hear your opinions!

Thanks in advance all replies are much appreciated!!

I think a month is way more veg time than you'd want for 14 plants in a 4x4. I have vegged a single plant for a month or so and ended up filling almost all of a 2x2 space on many occasions.

The fastest from seed i would do 9 in 3 gal pots no toping veg about a month give or take a week then flip. Personaly i would mainline 4 plants supercrop train probably 6 or 8 weeks veg and go for max yield. Whats a couple more weeks veg to get a few more oz

So in a 4x4 with 600 watts hps you would do 4 plants in Im guessing in 5 gallons pots veg for 6 to 8 weeks (mainline ,super crop) only? then switch to flower and no more training just wait till harvest?

And remember if you have any sativa heavy strains out of those 14 , those can double even triple in size , so be aware of the height you have to work with.

Unfortunately I do have a few sativa dominants & u just got me even more confused lol

No confusion ... be aware that they can stretch. Others mentioned cropping , which can be done to these , LST , and a number of other methods.

in my 4x4 i run a perpetual harvest. every 2 weeks i pull 2 plants out and put two plants in, and cut 2 clones from the mother. plants spend a week in a dome makin roots, a week in a solo cup, and 2 weeks vegging in a 1 gal. before flowering in a 5gal.

start with a good mother in a separate tent. pref a short indica strain that flowers in 8 weeks.
this is roughly my weekly schedule:

week 1: cut 2 clones from your mother plant.
week 2: transplant the 2 clones to solo cups
week 3: veg and train the first set in 1 gals / cut 2 more clones from the mother
week 4: veg and train the first set in 1 gals/ transplant the 2nd set into solo cups
week 5: flower originals / veg and train 2nd set in 1 gals / cut 2 more clones from the mother
week 6: flower originals / veg and train 2nd set in 1 gals / transplant 3rd set to solo cups
week 7: flower originals / flower 2nd / veg and train 3rd set 1 gals/ cut 2 more clones from the mother
week 8: flower originals / flower 2nd / veg and train 3rd set 1 gals/ transplant 4th set to solos
week 9 :flower originals / flower 2nd / flower 3rd / veg and train 4th set in 1 gals / cut 2 clones for 5th set
week 10: flower originals / flower 2nd / flower 3rd / veg and train 4th set in 1 gals / transplant 5th set into solo cups
week 11: flower originals / flower 2nd / flower 3rd / flower 4th / veg train 5th set in 1 gals / cut clones for 6th set
week 12: flower originals / flower 2nd / flower 3rd / flower 4th / veg train 5th set in 1 gals / transplant 6th set into solos
week 13: HARVEST originals/ flower 2nd / flower 3rd / flower 4th / flower 5th / veg and train 6th set in 1 gals / cut clones for 7 set
week 14: flower 2nd / flower 3rd / flower 4th / flower 5th / veg and train 6th set in 1 gals / transplant 7th set into solo cups
week 15: HARVEST 2nd / flower 3rd / flower 4th / flower 5th / flower 6th / veg and train 7th in 1 gals / cut clones for 8th set

from there on out you're just harvesting and cutting clones every 2 week. and moving things around. your flower tent will always be full!

if that makes no sense, well i'm sorry. mostly typed it out to try and get my head around it!

max harvest i imagine would be a combination of this, with minimal veg and training and small pots perhaps a perpetual sea of green type thing. or a long veg scrog.

if you're a new grower. start with LST

cheers.

Damn this makes me wish i had the need and the space to run perpetual... I really wouldn't have a use for that much bud, but I love the process.

In my first grow with 20 fem seeds I tried to germinated all of them thinking that half would fail. Nope, all germinated but I had an indoor space only for 8. I gave two away but still had extra 10 left. I left them outside and they grew very well. I harvested 7 of them but 3 were still outside. Then somebody came and tried to steal them, ruined them all and made a mess on my backyard.

So I have learned my lesson and I do not do more that I can fit in my indoor space.

3 gal pots and super crop many times to keep the tops even not just once. Here is my last mainlined supercrop under a 630. Far from the fastest method but yields almost as much as a true sog which would need close to 70 plants in a 4x4

If you can manufacture some other small space somewhere it would be very beneficial. That way, you can take cuttings of all of the 14 plants and keep them in veg mode in that other space, then when you bud out the 14 plants you can pick the best one or two or three and use those corresponding cuttings as mothers to take clones from and continue budding out the very best of what you have.

I don't like using the sog method with plants from seed. It works so much better with clones because it is not easy when you're dealing with plants at different heights, which is what you get when you do it from seed.

SOG is fantastic if you have mother plants. Get's tricky with seeds, especially regs or if cloning from clones. SOG is nice no doubt especially if height is a concern but at this point I would do as others suggested and scrog, mainline and supercrop to find those awesome mothers and then you can start a SOG
