SoG Grow Room Discussion

i think plants perceive light differently then humans
its still a valid point though, anyone can shed some scientific light ;-)
Those folks at Sentinal seem pretty sharp...they charge enough anyways. You would think they wouldn't sabotage their products with something that would screw up a grow. I would hope anyways... Do their products come with any warnings?

Personally I don't think those little LEDs have enough lumens to harm, but I suppose that if you had enough of them they add up. I have always had some sort of little light in my grows - power strip or 5/1 timer - something. I try and keep a piece of tape over it if I remember, but sometimes I dont.

I probably shouldn't say it and jinx myself, but I've never had a hermie in my life. But I've always had very lightproof rooms too aside from the occasional tiny light...
My thinking too Picasso - on both your posts... I mean the Sentinel devices are made for gardening, right? On that note - in the new room - just about all plants are showing after 7 days of 12/12 - so it's dark enough to induce flowering.

Yeah - SOG - if somebody could enlighten us?

I love my Sunleaves. You might have turned me onto that LB. I can't praise it enough. Not a hiccup out of it after running probably a year straight now on the hot side of my lights. It also lets me dial it up and down with the Speedster with no complaints.

In that giant tent, after venting the light and a huge carbon filter, my 6" still pulls the outside canvas of that tent hard up against the poles when I zip shut the door. I can actually leave the door open and no smells escape the tent it pulls that much air.
Nice fans - thanks for the heads up on those. I have seen those in catalogs... but was not sure. They look lighter? Are they quieter than Vortex? I love the color - that blue just looks "cooling".

I only have a Vortex clone and the Sunleaves is about the same weight, but a ton quieter, but that vortex-like fan isn't great quality. I basically got it thrown in for free on a carbon filter deal.

From the Top, Starting with LR

When it comes to my grows, im kinda anal about technique and im also a junkie gadget head (from regular gadgets, to computer gadget all the way incorporated to growing gadgets now)...

That being said, i tend to buy stuff on impulse without actually comparing other products especially if i see all the bells, whistles, lights, etc etc lol...

which leads us to me buying a IGS-220...when i bought the igs-220, i blv the sentinel chhc-1 was JUST coming out...im always on the new technology, but sentinel was new i blv...and i didnt hear nothing about it.

I love my igs220 it does it all just like the chhc-1, however....it does not have the remote sensor that i love so much about the chhc-1. so the actual controller needs to be in the area instead of having a sensor perse. The co2 sensor and sniffer is on the controller.

in the past i was using it in a collapsed SOG cab (which i have since rebuilt, only from scratch and not a pos store bought one) and i did have a hermie in there...not sure if it was from the igs220 controller lights or me not tuning the light down when it comes to greedy sativas

that said, i love both... however chhc-1 has the leg up on igs220 imho

-Red light from anything would be bag, imho....maybe not fatal or seedal (get it? haha yea im hi :p ) anywho...i dont care if its weak or strong, red light anything i wouldnt even walk the tight rope... not even from a triple dog dare

not to worried about the green... as i have went into the grow in flower at night with a greenlight

-Im gonna have to agree with Picasso...i think my rooms are pretty much light tight, but you do have the occasional pinhole and such... i would think you are fine...hell outside is not completely dark at night...i think anything not to powerful/strong and you should be good. I also think this plays into having weak genetics or not. Strong genes shouldnt break under what isnt even considered real pressure/conditions

and black tape (electrical tape) or guerrilla tape works too

---Picasso...

yea i been tryna tell ya i got an arsenal over here. all kinda gadgets....i remember when folks on RIU thought i was i working for SJ Darkroom 2-3 years ago!!! lol I know what i like and i know why i like it. I also know that other people would like it :p Some people listen to Loudblunts, and some people think Loudblunts is crazy and doesnt know what LB is talking about. Its okay.... ill be either or :p

May i also suggest insulated ducting if you are also worried about noise....with my ducting my shit is silent. i know you love your panasonics, but ill take the trade off for more airflow and quiet fan.

-I have yet to use any speed controller with the fans as i dont want my shit to hum/make more noise by slowing it down...but its great news to hear that you are having good times with it.

my DR sucks in/concaves too...lol thas how you know its power.....even with my forced intake it concaves so i know they are strong mofos!

ha, i think we are getting a bargain for some the sentinel shit...

some of the shit their products do? like all the features of the chhc-1 and i got mines for about $400-500?

it was a steal!!!

i think my igs220 was like $600 or 650?

while i dont own a vortex i have seen them in action in an 'associates' grow

those bitches are loud as fuck. i hate hearing 747 in my house dude!

im big on air flow and even bigger on quiet flow.

the way you mount your fans with grommets, bungee cords, etc etc all help silence it.

insulated duct work also almost kills the air whoosing noise....

however none of that matters, imho, if you have a loud ass fan....

which brings me to the casing that the fan comes in.

imho...all fans that are in polymer plastic type casings are hella more superior than regular fans....

Sunleaves Windtunnels, Solar & Paleau TD series, and Elicient fans all have plastic polymer type casing and they are sealed... they are hella much quieter with no sacrifice to air flow....

just to get the record straight here,
Sentinel folks are all ex C.A.P engineers refuge
they founded Sentinel as a direct competitor
their product line is way superior IMO
for starters their product line is digital
C.A.P products line are all still all run analog

--- LB / anyone; what did you hear about the controller I choose?

that is true as far as noise level goes with these type fans,
i was initially interested in the Solar & Paleau TD series
after researching i was advised to go with a more professional model
their down fall begins to show when you have the simplest curve, a turn or a long duct

did you leave out Sunleaves Windtunnel on purpose?

i would try them out before turning your nose up :p :bigjoint:

the chhc-1?
got confused there for a sec, i was thinking about a different controller by CAP
personally i think the Sentinel eng are at the top of their game when comes to environmental controllers
been on the phone few times with some of their eng, for some tech questions
the CHHC-1 who'd have been my controller choice if i didn't went with
IntelliClimateIntelligent Grow room Climate Controller by Autogrow Systems

hole e. shit bluntman!

i just went and looked

those are next on my list when i move and have more space to expand.

i've been peeping intellidose for a hot minute!

i have no data on those yet.... although i will want to try asap!!!

hell i might spoil myself and get like 4 of those systems for 4 different nute res...just depends on how much spacing i will upgrade to in the near future.... i want a basement soooo freaking bad

you will find two of the intelliclimate controllers stashed in my equipment pictures set
going to be installed as soon as i get my tents up, as stage one
stage two will be to completely automate the fluids system with 8 intellidose controllers + 8 stock tanks, i have it all planned
i just don't have the $$ at this point to splurge on stage II

the reason i asked is, i saw your comment about gadgets
also saw some of the threads you started on the other site about grow soft etc.. (Cudos! bra)

oh yea, i most definitely feel ya

our gadgets get hella expensive

im still over here plotting on hydroinnovations

i want that icebox for my cab so bad.

then i went searching for 1/2hp chillers....whew those get pricey....but i think i still may do it....just for overkill in the SOG cab
