Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate sex reversal seems complete. Progression?

Greetings to all!
First post (other than introduction) here so if I am using incorrect protocol feel free to let me know.
Also first attempt creating feminized seed for genetic preservation.
First I will use abbreviation STS. Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate (maybe should use STP) My preference is to spell out acronyms prior to use (clear understanding). I followed this video to concoct and apply the spray application. All went well. Chemicals formula precisely measured with firearm reloading scale. Distilled water.

Making STS with Sebring - YouTube

Plant being reversed Hashplant. Have years' experience cultivating this strain.

Anyway, STS 3x per day sprayed on branches not entire plant. 2 clones attempted per instruction. Sex reversal somewhat slow (would guess but 1st attempt so maybe normal) progression. Twelve on twelve off started 2/27 Took 4 days to stabilize room temp (too cold). 2/20 all is well. Couple pistils first seen 2/28. 3/5 Male stamens appearance noted if were to look closely. Clusters flowers eventually developed some anthers. Relatively few larger anthers (inconsistent size). Then the timeline slows.26 days later a few pollen sacs appear to be opening. No observable pollen to recover. As I am circling thru2x daily check I note the buds who have grown while awaiting pollen look slightly funky. Now some of white pistils are turning amber in color. Both reversed plants. The females in the grow buds all normal. Once again, no observed pollen dispersed.

Please take a look at pictures and let me know if I am good or need to start over. Yes, one of the pics my present avatar.

Second question while you are mulling over issue. Web research indicates STS weed hazardous to consume . Can you make finger hash from the new growth (never sprayed STS) occurring while the plants stretch to finish?

TIA=thanks in advance. SSP= sorry shitty pictures. Not real steady hands. I do appreciate the help.

As always have a fine day!

Curious how this turned out? I’m trying my hand at pollen chucking now. I clipped a clone and and so far successfully reversed with Sts , plenty of sacs but no pollen yet. Curious on how long after pollination the seeds are viable I started to reverse the clone and flipped lights only for the clone 2 weeks prior to the rest of the mothers being flipped. did you give it a long dark period after spray? i found during my applications that if i spray and keep them in complete darkness for a day plants usually dont show much stress if any.
No I’d typically start as lights came, ( clone juvenile in a solo cup, after first couple sprays she handle well, just first couple treatments)

I got my first batch of chems from Sebring himself and a copy of his original instructions which I altered to work better.

I've done 7 reversals on branches and one whole plant and never see but the slightest leaf damage using twice the strength the original instructions lay out. Every time I got viable pollen and fem seeds from it. One spray 4 days before flipping to flower just on the nodes leaving large leaves alone just at lights out with fans off to allow slow drying. 2 or 3 drops of Blue Dawn dish soap in a 500ml batch.

Then a spray at the flip 4 days later and every 4 days for a total of 5 or 6 sprays or balls show up.

I mixed the silver nitrate and andhydrous sodium thio in their own separate bottles and only blend what I need to make a 500ml batch of STS. The part A and B will keep for ages by themselves in a cool, dark place and I've used the mixed STS 4 months after mixing and it worked fine.

Had a hard time finding the chems to buy in Canada here but sourced the sodium thio from a chem supply in Ontario and just made my own silver nitrate from a .9999 silver coin from the post office ans some conc. nitric acid I just happened to have laying around. 8g coin yielded 12g of silver nitrate.

Sprayed a lot more than needed @BeCivil2all . 3 times a day for colloidal silver maybe but even that's too often. All sprays on your plants should be after lights out in dead calm air.

afaik silver nitrate and some other silver containing compounds are used in photo development processes bc they react very well with light and oxidize. its always better to give them darkness after sprays so the silver can be taken in by the plant and do what its supposed to do before oxidizing on the surface of the plant. also spraying when they are thirsty should help with faster absorption too.

pentahydrate just refers to how many water molecules are in the sodium thiosulfate (penta =5 hydrate = water therefore pentahydrate = 5 water) which is why you need slightly more than when using anhydrous sodium thiosulfate.

sts is an acronym for silver thiosulfate which is what you make when you mix sodium thiosulfate with silver nitrate.

it can be confusing as sodium thiosulfate can also be abbreviated to sts as well but isn’t the sts we require

Update to my eventual defeat.
No loose pollen shed from the reversed plant. Ground the male flowers and applied without success,

Threw my whole years schedule into chaos. My advice do only one focused on single new growing task without distractions. Timing when to harvest male and having available females can be big issue unless have several differing aged (like week apart) stock to work from. Male and females both.

Good experience and when next attempted will update.

Enjoy the day! Becivil2all
