I usually use r/o water to soak my seeds. I soak them for 24 he's then plant in soil. Your sprouts will need light the second they sprout from soil. Best to plant them then wait 36 hours then put light on them even if they haven't sprouted to be safe.

Room temperature water is cool. If you are using tap water be sure to let it sit out for at least 24 hours to get rid of chlorine before dropping in seeds.

first off, leaving water sit out no longer works to remove chlorine, as they have changed to chloromine, which is not a gas like the old days. Chloromine is removed by charcoal filtering or ascorbic acid (vitamin C).

second, chlorine "IS" one of the 16 elements plants use/need :)

third, chlorine helps soften the seed shell making it easier to pop, it also helps with rooting cuttings.

forth, add a bit of H2O2 (peroxide) to it to speed things up

Room Temp is good

So what you are saying is that tap water is useless for growing marijuana, especially organic, seeing that chloramine kills beneficial bacterias?

Also is this true for tap water all across the country or just in certain geographical areas?
used to be smaller towns still used the gas but most everyone has changed now

you can always call the water company and ask

I just get the yearly water report for my city off the web

I read through a few discussions about chloramine in tap water. Confused me a little cause at the end most people agree that chloramine is bad for people and plants but most still were using tap. I need to do a little more research since my next grow will be fully organic and I'd planned to use tap.
