So what went wrong in the capitalist Utopia of America?

So what happened?

decades in decline, the fewer get richer while the lives of the many hit rock bottom. A gulf destroyed, animals dying in droves, water supplies poisoned, homeless people squatting in front of empty houses. Your every move recorded, science subverted, food adulterated, medical extortion and exploitation, state sanctioned murder on the streets, welfare for the rich, scorn for the poor.

Education destroyed and replaced with jingoism, propaganda and deceit making too many people too stupid to see the powerful practice socialism for themselves while they practice capitalism on the powerless. If you think America is doing great, fine. Otherwise capitalism has a lot to answer for.

how else do you think we got here?

Fantastic post, man

I'd like to start off by saying I believe Capitalism is a productive force in this world. Capitalism, if it's pure, can and has raised millions of people out of poverty. Purity is the problem. The kind of capitalism we see today isn't pure, to the point I wouldn't even call it capitalism. What we have in America today is crony capitalism which big business controls. Big Business offers bribes, Elected Officials accept them. That's how it works in America.

It's been some years since we discussed this. Elastic currency is the single most corrupting tool there is. Agree or disagree?

So businesses offer bribes, politicians accept.....that's one thing. But what is provided in return? Endless legislation fueled by a printing press. Its a dice and cup game, the politicians can't just call up the fed and have some funds printed and put it in their pocket.

When you say "we" do you intend to mean that people who haven't agreed to be connected to others are somehow bound to them
anyway?

What creates a "we" ? Do people have a right to chose their associations on a mutual basis or does the volition of the individual not matter?

Yes but why does big business offer bribes? Because if they dont their competition will and they will be at a disadvantage.

Businesses dont necessarily want to contribute to political campaigns, it is legal extortion. But it is both good for the businesses and good for the politicians.

The only way to fix it properly is to remove the power from the politicians.

If you ask how I first point to thousands of pages of IRS regulations and a completely fucked tax code. Lets fix that and prevent a billion amendments from fucking it up again. That is one way to give the power back to the people, eliminate an enormous amount of waste in tax processing fees and take power out of the hands of the politicians. This could be done on both the federal and state levels.

Do you believe that Trump is going to fix the tax code so that the rich pay their fair share? He's rich. All of his friends and many newly appointed members of his inner circle and cabnit are rich.
I don't see this going very well for the little guy.

First, the rich already pay 90% so I am not sure how much more of the 'fair' share you expect them to pay.

Psst... Hillary Clinton is rich, every member of congress is rich, and every member of the senate is rich... Fuck, all of Washington is Rich.... What is that supposed to mean?

Donald Trump is the first elected president not bought and paid for by special interests in my lifetime.

What a poor person needs to become a rich person is a job. What this country needs are a lot more jobs, not a lot more welfare checks. Donald Trump will work with Congress (lets see how effective that is) to change the tax code and eliminate regulation which will encourage the growth of business and job growth.

That will help out the average American.

I see it going really well for the little guy.

How much taxes does Trump pay again? I beleive the Clinton numbers were 36% of their earnings.
What was Trumps? I can't remember but I'm sure his percentage was YUGE.

So now the higher percentage of your earnings the government steals the better?

I believe the government took in a record revenue last year and managed to spend it and much much more.... Maybe we better cut the budget back too eh?

I'm just wondering what the man of the people paid in taxes. Seems like a reasonable thing to want to know. All other presidents had their taxes made public.
