So UV light growing?

At the moment im growing under 200W of CFL. Im going to get some UV lights on the weekend and Im wondering a few things.

Firstly, weather i should mix CFL with UV?

Secondly, If its even worth getting UV?

Thirdly, would it only be good for veg or can you flower with them?

I used a UV bulb on my second grow. It produced more trichs, made my buds look really pretty. I would say for a small scale grow, go for it. Anything bigger, and you're wasting energy. Use them with flowering, that's the only time they're useful.

And yes, you can mix them with CFLs.

So they arnt any use for vegging? How many watts of UV would i need for a small grow when flowering? I only have 3 plants and im not looking to produce alot just enough to keep me and a few friends happy

I used one single 10.0 UV bulb from Petsmart for three plants. Definitely made a difference on the concentration of trichs.

Edit: Two bulbs would probably do even better. I would run them about 8 hours per light cycle.

Ok so when flowering I have my CFL's on 12/12 and my UV on 8/16?

According to the studies that I've read, UV during veg has little to no impact on the final product.

The trichomes are what utilize the UV rays by channeling them to the "stems" of the gland where THC production takes place. Once again, I'm not an expert, just what I've read...

That's how I ran it with pretty decent results. Of course, your welcome to perform your own experiments...
