Are you familiar with the recent COA ruling regarding any form of residual thc in your system? If not, you may want to look into it. Never tell an officer that you are a patient. It's probably not a good idea to even keep your card in your wallet while driving. It's nice to see someone that has so much faith in the popo's ability to do the right thing by being kind and reasonable. Naïve... possibly... no disrepect intended. Yes, YOU'RE Right... No Fear Always! Afterall, they work for you.

yes sir i am familiar with it and im not saying the cops are going to be nice about it but if your not a dumbass you wont have any issues .. like driving while high your not gonna get pulled over for no reason and your right if you do get pulled over dont tell them your a patient.. if you follow the laws while driving you wont get pulled over... if you dont tell sketch people about what you do the cops wont show up at your house the people that are worried are people doing something wrong and if you live in a city where the cops are just assholes move to another place that their not because i live in a city that they don't care as long as your not breaking state laws.. i know multiple people that have had run-ins with the cops and as soon as they said they had there card the cops were on there way and apologized for showing up at there house for no reason

While you are correct in the argument "if you don't cause trouble your not really going to get trouble."

This is very true but that doesn't make it right and it doesn't protect potentially innocent victims, make any exscuse you want to but its still not right. As I wrote before, the cops are NOT your friends and to go around thinking otherwise is not only foolish its dangerous. I would advocate for the proper middle ground so that your safety is at its maximum.

1. Don't be a dick, be polite (don't be beligerant)
2. Don't get into trouble or deal with people who do (obey the laws to the best of your abillity)
3. Know your rights

You can't just scratch off #3 and hope you will be okay, its a complete myth that the police protect people or are out to serve and protect in our interest, I would argue this is impossible. Their job is to charge people with crimes so that is what they do.

All good advice kindfarm and deprave. So I'd suggest, consider popo to be kool as the exception, not the rule. The best defense, is a strong officerfence. Will let ya know when my card renewal shows. Peace-out..

If you are a patient and are pulled over LEO will know.

State police are being certified to take blood along side the road.

You trust em! You say there are good ones? Not in my experience.

You have no clue on what you're talking about, Hippa laws are still in effect.

You come on here and spread fear and total bullshit without a dash of proof, some people kids, geez.

Lol. You just keep thinkin like that. So don't medicate 21 to 30 days before U carefully drive?

What part of any one with access to LEIN having your name as a patient do you actually like. Try to disregard your feelings for me. What part of that is what U voted for???

I would say that I'm sorry I sound a little pissy, but I'm not sorry in the least. Just spent all day on the road illegally delivering meds to a non-papered terminal patient. In violation of so many new rules. I doubt she will see mothers day. What the fuck did you do today? Us or them pick a fuckin side!

It hasn't even been voted on?

Show us one bit of proof that Hippa laws are no longer in use?
Contact LARA and ask about FOIA. Show me one bit of proof it (hippa) is.

When a social worker can tell that their client's mother is a patient.. As in "we know your mom is a MMJ patient", said the nice lady from the state. That's where your hippa is

FOIA cant be used for the following:

The Michigan law defines "public record" to mean a writing which encompasses "handwriting, typewriting, printing, photographing, photocopying, and every other means of recording, and includes letters, words, pictures, sounds, or symbols, or combinations thereof, or other means of recording or retaining meaningful content) prepared, owned, used, in the possession of, or retained by a public body in the performance of an official function, from the time it is created." [SUP][8][/SUP]
[h=4][edit] Exemptions[/h]Exceptions include:

  • Computer software is not included in the definition of what a public record is.
  • Personal information that would result in an invasion of privacy (15-243.1.A)
  • Law enforcement investigations (15-243.1.B, S)
  • Information that would jeopardize security at prisons (15-243.1.C)
  • Trade secrets (15-243.1.F)
  • Information given in the confidence of attorney client privilege (15-243.1.G)
  • Medical Records (15-243.1.H, L)
  • Appraisals for potential property acquisitions (15-243.1.J)
  • Examination information (15-243.1.K)
  • "Communications and notes within a public body or between public bodies of an advisory nature to the extent that they cover other than purely factual materials and are preliminary to a final agency determination of policy or action. This exemption does not apply unless the public body shows that in the particular instance the public interest in encouraging frank communication between officials and employees of public bodies clearly outweighs the public interest in disclosure" (15-243.1.M)
  • Information that would jeopardize security of individuals or infrastructure (15-243.1.N, U, Y)
  • Archaeological information (15-243.1.O)

http://privacy.med.miami.edu/glossary/xd_law_enforcement.htm

here is a good example of the circumvention.

but regardless... we're in a fascist state. they do what they want. you can bitch about the rules all you want. but hippa hasn't protected a single patient.

hey hey.. remember that one time when the AG signed away 42 names of patients all for just 5 suspected people...

you bitch then about hippa not being in effect?

welll... the more you know.
