So I snapped something big 2 weeks into flower....shiet, do I restart ?

Sup people !

I was getting rid of some lower leaves and nodes since my plant has so damn many that were getting 0 light and growing slowly. I then wanted to organise the main branches with tape rope, then I pulled 1 too far and it snapped, not completely but about 50% off. I quickly covered it in rooting gel, tied it to the main branch to put it back into place and wrapped a wet tissue around the breack. (terrible photo added) aha. I have about 6 clones waiting to grow roots. I was going to flower this single plant while these clones sit under a couple CFL's. Now the snap has happened, I assume flowering will take a bit longer and the yeild will be decreased..that ontop of what this plant has been through (amazing this thing survived this long, been a great 1st test plant). Would it be worth flowering this plant or just taking more clones and restarting the cycle with more plants ?

Keep in mind this plant has been in veg for 2 months..it almost damped off in terrible soil as a seedling, then was given no nutes, then was given far too much...then had a branch snapped. If it were a crime to mistreat plants I would be in big trouble -.- but its my first time growing anything so, in the name of science :D

(I didnt show the break cause it really doesnt look like much now its mended and its hard to get a good camera angle)

It will heal fine. Doubt if it will even slow her down. I supercrop branches well into flower with no issues, and that's essentially the same thing.

mutilating leaves and removing them from the bottom of a plant will slow your progress with less photosynthesis.
hope breaking branches was a warning.....

Yeah I have seen a hundred posts saying the same thing, that taking off lower leaves/nodes is a terrible thing...but theres almost an equal number of posts stating that it is great when they are getting near no light or growth. So since this is a mock grow to test the waters I wanted to see if I saw negative/positive side effects in which I could learn from.
 
your buds thrive right to the light penetration point. I skirt everything under that point for a perfect expression every time.
I dont like the lower fluff for a few reasons, it kills me to discard these trimmings. these trimmings are not worth my efforts. I cant have the added weight around, nobody is interested in the popcorn, potent or not, colas are in demand.
water/mud splashes onto this area with every watering here. Never been happier
 
like disconnecting the spark plug to save gasoline..?

if those leaves are green .......they re the reason you have buds in the first place.
if you wanted more buds from the plant you could veg longer.
if you want more light to reach lower plant parts...use real grow lights.
 
and 2 weeks into flowering aint shit... if you like, you can flush soil.

Re pot into fresh spoil with larger container.

Start blasting them with 24 hours light again.... and wait till plant looks healthy again then start flowering.... but sounds like yer gonna focus on yer clones...

I really can't imagine this plant will yeild much after all its been through, as I said its amazing it actually survived since it was on the edge of damping off. +rep Canna Terra for the revive. I just want to quickly produce buds so I can get the experience. Is there a way to quickly produce buds or is it much like Veg and its a time game ?

People scare the crap otta people that these plants are pussies and super fragile... i say BS! These broads we grow are no pansies... weed is not a slang term...

I split my first grow in half, had a light rig fall on her. I had LST her so she parted in a "y" right after coming out of the grow medium, one of thes main two was split damn near off. Braced her up, wrapped her with electrical tape, that didnt even cause her to stumble. I tripled my mentors goal for me off of her.

Youll be fine... growing becomes much less stressful when you see how tough they are (though thats not licence for abuse or negect either) but problems you see and correct or work towards correcting wont cause the panic it does at first, and i mean no condecention in that at all..
 
I agree with hucksters.

The biggest plant I ever saw was trampled to the ground several times by horses.

We threw seeds from bag weed beside a barn into a ditch that had been filled up over the years with manure and sawdust and composted.

We didn't know it was there. It was a sativa dominant. It got 16-18 foot tall and 6 people couldn't hold hands around it.




Tape it up. I break limbs on purpose all the time at the first of flower.

I've dropped things on them. Bent and broke them.

I like to super crop right at flower. I take the limbs and flatten them lime a straw between pointer finger and thumb. Break them and let them heal. They form a big knuckle. I makes that limb act lime its own plant. It will bush out more.

Good for height control.
 
If its a real bad break I've had success using tape similar to this

any tape will do but the self stick pliable stuff is easy and good to have on hand. I also keep them out of intense light for a day to two.

When I purposely "break" them, I do as whitebb and huckster. Pinch and bend. Works like a charm.
Cannabis is a tough tough plant!
 
Agree with the posters saying no problem, these girls bounce back quick. Example of how I finished one of my plants (left) outdoor last summer below. They were sitting under some pine trees, wind storm came through and knocked a 50 lb branch on her. Thought she was a gonner, a couple of branches broke right off. Tape, string, 1x2's for support and saved probably 3/4 of her, finished like a champ.
