i have plants, and there 3ish weeks into flowering, now heres the catch people have stumbles across them, (there in the ground) and the people are really stupid and think there done so there gonna pick them, now heres my question " can i cut the buds with some stem and put them in water, kinda like you would a clone, would thye be able to finish up or with it just screw with them and hermi?

there not too big so cutting them up isnt a real big issue its only a couple buds per plant.

you can take a bud with some stem and treat it like a normal clone and get it to root and grow a new plant from it, but i don't understand how that goes towards your situation.. if you did this, you'd just end up with a new plant and have to start to process all over again..

You could clone them, but they will revert back to veg, they won't continue to bud;-)

thats whats im talking about, how instead of cloning them just keep them flowering in clone form (if this makes sense) so they can finish up rather then revert

Clone them on 12/12? i have herd of it done before but i have never tried it... i just cloned a flowering plant a week ago let it root and threw it in the flowering room she is buding at 6inches tall now ( just an experiment but id say this is closer to what your trying to do... which i am working on right now View attachment 1660687i just clone them until they have roots and throw them in the 12/12 chamber and they start to flower again... this on is under a 100watt Cfl 24/0 just started las night.... then once she grows some roots transplant and into the flower room.. idk if that helps at all but so far its been good for me

its not to clone them but to keep them alive till they mature, but would the shock of cutting them mes with them or not?

You know as ridiculous as his question sounds its still a good question. I've never tried this and I doubt hardly anyone else has, mostly because I cant think of a reason to. But to answer your question Im gonna say yes it could work. But getting these flowering clones to ripen is gonna take considerably longer, mainly because its takes longer to get a cutting to root if its taken from a plant in bloom, also consider the fact that these cuttings will be trying to root with a shortened light cycle as well. Once they root you will essentially be have a complete plant except you wont be starting at square one with your clones. To make this work you would have to be quite skilled with cloning and hydro. Sitting them in a glass of water on the window sill wont cut it. I've had cuttings start flowering while rooting in my bubble cloner before because of a shortened light cycle, I cant remember how long it was though, I was trying to match the light cycle outside during early spring here.

Well its still cloning in the sense your cutting the plant up and making individual smaller plants out of it.. i mean it could work but i wouldnt do it to a whole plant first, i would experiment with it... Seeing as you dont have time to experiment i wouldnt expect good results out of it.. say 50/50 chance either way.... How big is this plant?? like 1 ft 2 3 4ft or what... Maybe bring her inside dig her up if possible... ive never done that either tho so idk bout all that...

Last year, I took clones from my plants that were outside after they had begun to get some sticky bud sites. I took a few from each plant and they turned out fine. I had about 80 percent success with the clones. My advise is to grab all at the base run em home and make buttloads of clones. its still early in the season, you could get a harvest

you can clone flowering plants but to continue flowing the clones out would not be the best idea, cloning stresses a plant, and flowering will be postponed, if you leave them under 12/12 for the clone it will eventually give you some alright buds, best bet is to clone, revert to veg then start the flowering proccess over again, but that is even counterproductive as the end result will still prob be less bud than if they finished in the ground. try a transplant. get a 10 or 20 gallon pot with some decent potting soil and dig those babies up, try not to severe the main taproot with your shovel and they should be fine, dont worry about cutting through a few roots they will easily recover.
next about where to put them. you chose a bad spot obviously if people found them. always search for spots the previous season checking for the way the sun will hit the plants and all but mainly looking for signs of traffic, trails, trash, footprints, tape ribbons or spray paint. getting caught growing is serious your luck it was some idiot stoners and not jonny law. try to put your plants in the very middle of a thornbush, or around a skunk den or bee hive, places where mosquitos are an extreme problem. maybe someplace covered in poison ivy (just make sure you where long pants and sleeves)
choose a better location next time and this wont be an issue. man i wish we could all keep our plants displayed proudly in our front yard, good luck man hope you can get them moved before someone tries to make off with them
