huge cola rot 007.jpghuge cola rot 002.jpghuge cola rot 006.jpg

That cola looks decent from the outside but 1 wilted leaf tells another story. The first pic is what i was able to salvage of this cola. Been fighting this shit for 2 weeks now. Originally i thought heavy handed srpaying caused this. Im starting to think otherwise as even small golfball sized nugs are rotting on me. They havent seen rain and the last spray i did was Sep. 23. have had decent temps and breeze almost everyday so that last spray i dont think is a factor in whats happening now. Looks like none of my 6 plants will make it to 100% maturity. Everythign was going so good until 2 weeks ago. Was proud of my firast grow but no some much anymore this shit has me very frustrated to say the least. Will be looking for more mold resistant strains for next year. Qrazy train rotted on me the worst lost alot on that plant.

Sorry for the loss man, that would put me in a really bad mood.

Some strains that I've got going right now that seem to be mold resistant are green crack, blueberry x trainwreck, afghan kush, kush #1, Grandaddy haze.

Though here in central valley not many strains suffered bud rot unless huge colas

bot sucks! I wouldnt spray your buds at all. maybe mix in something to get your soil to drain better. damn the bad luck!

That sux bro, if you sprayed them and it didn't dry I could see that happening. I always sprayed my buds really good when they were small and as they get bigger I go from drenching to misting. If you have money you could get a fogger if you think the mold is from spraying, im too poor to buy a fogger barely got my garden going as it is.

When I can no longer drench the buds and only lightly mist them with safer brand catipiller killer, I add it to the water when I feed them every 2 days. Now this is my first year really growing and I have no idea if it's going to affect the taste, however it does not seem to hurt the plant and DOES kill them. Ive had people here on this site say it does NOT,would NOT work in watering and must be sprayed. However in my head I see poison as poison, if you spray them yes they die faster, however if they are far into bud u must drench risking wetting and molding. Now wheres to if you water with it they die AFTER eating leaf or bud, however my buds are now DRY.

I'll have to let you know how the final product turns out......sorry to hear about your bad luck, thanks for sharing .

the plants are in smart pots and the soil drains very well so thats not it. We had temps at or near 100 4-5 days after my last spray and the next day maybe 95+ with about a 15 mph wind so they dried out pretty good. i cut most of the big colas down some as a preventive thing and others just as it started. That wa smy last holg on cola on my largest deep purple plant. Have 1 plant yet untouched and its a qrazy train more trainwreck domi so am really hoping ill post a pic of the last hold out plant

Mantool it spreads like a mfer wildfire at least in my experience. KNowing what has happened to me over the last 2 weeks i would cut the whole damn plant down cause i lost alot that didnt have rot but developed it, had i chopped and it was drying it wouldnt have rot.

I'm having issues myself so you're not alone. That doesn't help much I'm sure but it's all I got. Mine are all budworm related. Really breaks your heart to open up a 10 or twelve inch cola and find a big fat worm and all the damage that it caused. Next time I'll do things a little diff. Don't know why I thought I was going to skate through this without these probs. Live and learn

Chopped the first batch, dont wanna chop and cant trim. But fuck bud rot i lost a shit load of buds on an outdoor grow buds are so tight that i guess the moisture locks in that's what i'm thinking and its stopped raining so hopefully it dries out before the second chopping
smfh....

well i can assure you on my plants at least that it is not budworms period... I saw budworms on another grow and how they worked and what they did after cutting down a section And woul d stake my life on this being rot and not worms.
