So.Cal Outdoor Feeding Question

For the veg period of my plants I use Fox Farm soil and the hot weather in So.Cal. means more frequent waterings. When the weather was cooler I would feed the plants with Fox Farm Big Grow Neuts every other watering as directed and now since the weather is very hot I water more often so should I still feed the plants with neuts every other watering or do I cut down on the nuets since I water the plants more often? Any help is appreciative. : )

How do they look? Look like they need nutes or are they healthy and happy plants? If they're nice and green and growing happily, I would just water twice, feed once...Thats what I've been doing since it got real hot down here.

The plants are healthy, happy, nice and green. Watering twice then feeding once sounds like
exactly what I should do! Why didn't I think of that?!
Thank you much for your great advise. : )

I'd be lost otherwise.
I'm running till mid October, 5 Bubbas, 3 Black Dominas and 1 NYPD (new york power diesel).
They are at 3 feet so far and mostly indicas so they handle the hot weather with ease.
NYPD has roots in S.Africa and the Black Dominas roots come from Afganastan.
I love indicas, so easy to grow and space friendly!

Yo, I'm in LA too, homie...You in the south bay area? I'm up near Santa Monica...You are a med patient, right? I got a couple five footers, some 4.5-4 footers, a 3 footer and some itty bitty clones

Its nice to find some people from my neck of the woods...i need some advice as well. I was considering feeding every 3rd watering too. To tell you the truth, i first was feeding every watering and nothing happenned but i slowed down.

How often are you guys watering? I've got 4 plants all in 15 gallon containers. I transplanted them from 5 gallon because i thought they had outgrown that and i was tired of watering every other day but since the weather is really warm i'm still watering everyother day. Its hard to tell if its dry enough. I'm just going off of what I see on the top crust. When its dry and powedery i water it. I would wait for the 3rd day but i'm worried i'd be risking underwatering it and then have to wait for it to recover before i give it some nutes again.

Two of my plants are getting pretty big..about 6 feet. Here are some pics of them a couple of weeks ago. Your suggesttions appreciated.

Man those plants look great! Funny just like you, I also transplanted 4 plants from 5 gal pots into15 gallon pots. 5 more will be going in 15 gal pots soon also. The 4 plants are about 3 feet tall and will be vegging
till mid august in this hot so cal sun. I been watering mine every 4 days to give the soil a chance to dry out towards
the middle and lower part of the container. On the 4th day I see a little wilting but all is ok as soon as I give them a good drink.
With this watering the plants are growing at a fast rate and very healthy such as yours. Watering every 4 days seems a bit too long
but it has been working very well for me. Since yours are bigger they will drink more so I would think every other day for watering is good
for your plants. I water as soon as I see the plants wilt a a little to give the roots a chance to reach out and grow looking for
water. Now, I see your plants are in black containers and they will get the soil very hot and dry out your soil quicker and possibly might burn
your roots slowly. My 15 gal pots I picked up at Home Depot and are a very light beige color so the soil gets no heat at all. Much better for a grow then black containers. When my plants were smaller and now I also have some smaller plants in 1 1/2 gal black pots and the black is covered with white paper to keep the container cool. If you have hot sun where your at just touch the black pots in the mid day sun and they will
be very hot to touch enough to burn your hands. This is how hot black pots get in so, cal. Not good at all but if your plants are not in the direct hot sun then your black containers are right. If you do have hot sun hitting your containers I would spray them white or cover them with anything white
to save your soil from overheating, drying out too soon and root rot. Please advise as I would like to know what route you are taking.

Plants do look great. It you want to bring them to the next level for flowering you will need to put them in larger containers. Figure at least 30 gallon. The 24 or 36 " landscape wood planters are readily available and not too expensive. Check the inland empire CL. They will finish fine in 15 gallons but if you transplant now you could double or tripple your yield. Also hard to pass a plant that big with a huge pot over a fence.LOL

not if your watering every day , you will kill them. Follow the directions on the packaging, but still water as needed.
