So are more expensive LEDs really worth it..?

Just running cheapo no name 300 wts ( 120 dollars each on EBay..including shipping )
One light per plant.
Have had them for about a year or so and this is usual size and yield.
The sister plant to this yielded over 10 ounce ( wet ) and will probably dry to 8 oz. ( Just harvested 2 days ago )
It is brick hard and goeey. So weight loss will be minimal.
It's a DPBB x NL. 60 days out and a few days from harvest.
I could have gone longer and fattened them up more but I like the clear / milky high.

Just wondering if they would get better under more expensive lights or if I'm missing out on that perfect bud ?
I'm having no problems with the lights I have now, work great, reliable, no LEDs out, cool and I have not found a need to augment lighting. ( No matter the strain )

I'm not looking to really grow more weed, just better.

I know one thing though...any strain I grow is way better tasting, smelling and rock harder then stuff I grow under HID. ( not to mention the no cooling hassle...my arch enemy with HID grow )
And the buzz is almost tripping.
Me like ....

I'm just always wanting to improve ....

I currently flower under led and my initial experience is they are not worth the extra money for performance (yield for sure, not sure about quality), but may be worth the cost in increased savings in energy. My yield is suffering since I switched to led, but I really can't tell if there has been any improvement in quality. I know there is a noticeable difference in the electric bill. I already grow more pot than I can smoke so it is no big deal. If I had it all to do over again I would just take the money I spent on led and put it in the bank and use it to pay for mh and hps bulbs each year and what is left over would go to the power company until they come up with something better than hid or led. Maybe plasma?

What leds did you use. You didn't say.

I don't really want to say in this context. The quality is superb and the customer service is excellent. They were sold as being equivalent to 400 w hid. I've never used 400w hid, but I've used 250w mh , 800w mh/hps and 1000w watt hps, so I have something to compare them to.

Build quality and customer service can suck deez nuts if the diodes are inefficient and blurple.

Well If supposed to be a 400w equivalent could you get a 1/2lb or so out of it? I know not the best example but i knew I could consistently get 10-12 off a 4-hundo.

not sure what I would do with a half pound. I can't smoke that much. The shit I grow is so potent it is not safe to walk around the house at night after you smoke a bowl. As a matter of fact, I am looking for a little less potent strain. Maybe a little less indica and a little more sativa?

Nice looking bud. But if you're "not looking to really grow more, just better" than already "way better tasting, smelling and rock harder stuff then" you "grow under HID", what exactly are you "just always wanting to improve"?

Let me guess. CLW? lol

LEDs in general aren't worth it. The point of growing weed is to yield as much as possible at any cost...
That does not apply to everybody . Some take quality higher than yield . Leds are proven to yield higher quality plants . Greengenes took an 750 watt Apache tech led and a 1000w hps and showed the test results . Hps won in yield by a very small margin but taste and potency and overall appearance went to the LED on a blue dream run he did using the clones from the same mother . So re check your statement to at least say some people grow for quality and not yield . I'd personally would sacrifice a little yield for the above factors mentioned
