Snake In Potting Soil?

Anybody ever found a snake in their grow room/tent? I found a small one today around six inches long. The only reasonable explanation is that it came from the new bag of potting soil that I recently used to fill a five gallon smart pot. Nothing else makes sense. Thoughts?

My worst nightmare...

Yea, I'm not big on snakes. There's no other reasonable explanation but I've never even had a bug in my soil before. I'm wondering if it somehow got sealed in the bag. There was no signs that had been there long. I chased it into a jar with a screwdriver and it shit so I looked for the same type of shit but I wasn't able to find any. Kinda creeps me out. I moved the remainder of that bag of soil outside.

The snake probably came from outside.
I have 2 of em and don't underestimate em. They're escape artists

It's been getting pretty cool here at night. I don't know much about snakes but I figured they'd be burrowed in somewhere by now. It was small as well. Not sure how fast they grow but it looked small like it hatched in the spring. Who knows though.

As long as it's not poisonous then you're good.

That's the other thing. I Googled local snakes and I couldn't make a match. That kind of reinforces my theory that it came from somewhere else.

What'd it look like

PSH I just killed a ohio milk snake...and they look identical like copper hesds, and where I lived I killed a copper last year NO BUENO ....but this was in my laundry room aka basement not my grow still scared the piss out of me, I took the dogs poop shovel and cut its head off..I couldn't tell if it was a milk or copper until after death or I would have never killed it

It was gray with black spots. I took a picture but I'm a little sketchy about posting pics. Not sure how that metadata BS works.

There's a 7 foot hognose ratsnake that lives in my outdoor garden. Kills all the little bunnies and mice he's my guard snake.

Please dont let him kill bunnies, Is there anything you could do about that? It kills me to think about it, Id really appreciate it if you could help the bunnies.

Maybe it's one of those tiny ground snakes. It's like a worm but with scales and they live in the dirt. I forget where I've dug them up.....Florida I think.

Bunnies are the devil! They ate all my cauliflower and broccoli and dug up a bunch of my carrots.

useless fact, did you know that the hognose can broaden it's head to resemble the cobra?
I found that interesting considering they are typically on different sides of the hemisphere...
Course snakes have been on the planet for a while...
Same concept as ratsnakes using their tail to "rattle" against leaves or brush to warn predators..

Typically, venomous snakes has slits for pupils and non-venomous has round pupils.
Typically, venomous snakes have a triangular head to accommodate the venom glands.

If I see both of those traits....it gets smashed with a shovel or I head the opposite direction.
