Smoking Weed A SIN?

but the question isn't "is it illegal" it's "is it a sin".

I thought our sins were pre-forgiven, therefore nothing is a sin, and before the 7 deadly sins come up, they are not mentioned anywhere in the bible. Those are man made.
Right Miss, sin has no formal form of discription in the Bible....it was given form / shape along with Hell from a novel written by some Italian Priest, Monk or whateva I believe back in the day.......

I neve got the whole, jesus died for our sins thing. So beofre jesus, if you sinned you went to hell? Gee, no one mustve gotten into heaven then. So then I guess god had to revise that huh. But why did jesus have to die so that god could forgive our sins?
Before Christ, we in our thinking were bound to hell in thought, so we lived that way, so therefore were bound in a living Hell, at the Mercy of our own Flesh.......When he layed down his life......he showed us that we have power over this Flesh, and therefore no longer was bound to a living Hell, if only in Thought......So errbody got the Free Pass except for those still bound, they just haven't redeemed their Ticket yet...

Here's the short version, Your New Lambo doesn't Make you who you are, You are who You are.....Right? Well back then you Were the Lambo....and that is how it was and still is for some people....

my interpertations, hope that helps out a bit :-D

Perhaps when you know what a sin is, you will realize if in fact smoking weed is a sin or not.

The question is not so much about smoking weed, as defining this term: sin.

Good and bad, evil vs holy, positives vs negatives. These are all subjective and inherently meaninglessly. Meaning highly arbitrary and easily nullified.

Aren't you glad to have so many willing people to persistently tell you what to think?
I enjoy reading your well thought out posts ;-)

here is where smoking weed is a Sin to Me....

I grind up my resinous Bud, it's so sticky icky, icky....oooooooooo, weeeee

I carefully place it in my roller, making sure not to pack it to tightly, as it would make it to difficult to get a good drag off of..

I light it up, taking in a long drag, (cough, cough, Kaaaaa aaak) thats some good shit... Haven't sinned yet, but wait,

I lay in the shadows, stalking, waiting, patiently for my next victim to fall into my booby trap.....the time is near, I've spotted my prey, Wearing a t-shirt saying live above the influence, don't smoke Weed,.......Yes the time is near, I spring out from my hidden aclove, and wrestle my game to the ground, it squeals of torment and fear is in it's eyes, for it has seen the Green Leafy sticky thing rolled up in my ear, I laugh with a sinister grin, as I take the Flame of Knowledge :fire:and combine it with the Green Knowledge of Life :weed:, and blow a big ass Cannon Charge right down their nostrils......Well I think you can find some kind of sin in that for me, and I'm sure the victim may feel that they are destined to Hell as well............

Deep very deep lol Im not trying to have someone tell me how to think however im just pondering the question and I think its always good to look at things with an open mind and its best to look at someone elses view because not everyone thinks alike!

I would say consistently that its a matter of conscience and Truth. God told Peter to kill and eat. It is a matter of understanding how it actually effects your faith walk and your seeking, obtaining anf practicing the Truth, the thing of God.

Also, it depends on how it may be effecting a neighbor; for instance, if you know that a neighbor of yours is struggling with that or a food or drink or activity in general then you have to empathetize and sacrifice accordingly on behalf of that neighbor that's struggling; whether thats quiting that activity all together, not doing it around them, or showing greater discipline with it in their presence in a developmental discipline type of sacrifice.

Does this make sense; ultimately, its a matter of obedience of conscience, Truth, and Loving thy neighbor.

The Book of Romans Chapter 14 verses 1 - chapter 15 verses 1 - 13 gives Scriptural testimony on this interpretation.

I had wonder the same thing before... This is my opinion

Since God put weed like any other plant in this Earth for everyone then I believe he had a purpose.
Back in time before the European came in the West from Europe the Aztec,Mayas,Incas, and other Civilization(I dont know the rest..) had use plant for medical reason. Is proven fact from Scientist that is true, and since they didn't have much education back then that probably a good use of Marijuana. But then not forget that people invented this drug using the plant not GOD. God simply made the plants, animals, for good reason, but in the hand of a Man only God can Judge him and smoking the plant for religious reason or medical probably not a sin. But If you'r using the plant of God to sell, kill, etc then I guess you believe what you want.. I smoke it cause it calm me down when Im stressed out and that a good enough reason for me even if it is a sin or not I can give a dawm.

Truest shit I ever wrote.

y'all you had read the article I wrote for 1 of my school project essay why should Marijuana be legal. Because is Illegal don't mean is sin even though God say whatever Law the Authority in your Country'(something like that...) make you should follow it and not break it because disobeying the law is a sin. I choose to break this law because I used to smoke Tobacco and wonder why this shit is not Illegal instead of Marijuana. So I choose to break it because in this Era is no surprise who is behind the paper and pen that decide to do what they want and make it legal or illegal for the Country Economy.

i go to a non-denomnational church "christian" and i realy believe that its not a sin. i also feel its not a cult but everyone has there opinion. but if your struggling with it then maybe you shouldnt do it cuz its causing more stress then releiving it thats for sure what its not meant to do

petty semantics. we are talking about a humble, life encompassing philosophy. Words are just vessels of communication.

"It shall be done on earth, as it is in heaven"

Kids on acid will try and tell you we are all one consciousness, I hate to break it to you but good vs evil is the realest, deepest, most cut-and-dry binary dimension we will ever see in all time.
Taoism, Ying Yang whatever you want to call it... even the head of the SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION is spouting this "one consciousness, one world" idea...
It is coming faster every day.

All waves entropy to a calm flat line. That is the meaning behind my words. Negation of 'good and evil', if you average it all, you get zero. From ash you come, and to ash you shall return.

Good vs evil only exists when you create it. That's my problem with religious people in general. They create it. They create evil far more than good. Evil doesn't exist until it's invented. New evils are invented daily. One man's good is another man's evil, and vice versa. Nullification. Dehumanization. Making a sin of that which is naturally human, how absolutely absurd!

Good vs evil is far from black and white(binary). It's a farce. It's bullshit. Good is evil, evil is good. There is no difference. There is only your limited perception of the matter. It has only one shade, and it's gray. A very ugly, and often hateful shade of gray.

Do you even mean consciousness, or do you really mean conscience?

One conscience...now that's remotely possible(that's the 'hope' of most religions, afaik). One consciousness... just sounds droid-like.

your body is a temple. arsenic is poison, ciggarettes are legal. smoking is a sin. marijuana is medication, it is also illegal, but it is not a sin. jesus told me this last week
LMAO... I feel you though.

Whether its a quote unquote "Sin" I could care less personally. Man made laws, wrote books(including the Koran, Bible or whatever else you decide to follow)....good shit!:fire:.... Your connection with God (Jesus, Allah, Yahweh or whoever) is yours and no one elses so if you feel its wrong that's on your heart... Me personally I feel its just a plant :weed:.. wheres the sin in that??

Why does this really matter...I mean as a christian...you are given an excuse to do wrong, you are a sinner, so this dude/god/ghost died to make it all good. Accept that the dude is your lord...and it's all good anyhow...unless you bear false witness or covet your neighbors hot wife...you burn for that sh!t...Child molestation, torture, and slavery...more like misdemeanors...left to the church...to commit...did not even make the top 10.

"bless me father for I have smoked pot"

Now worshiping Cannabis like I do; growing it, smoking it (everyday for most of the last 25 years), reading about it, talking about it, writing about it, studying it...religiously must truly be wrong...but I'm cool with it.

Religion is a joke...used to manipulate behavior on an individual and community level...more powerful than drugs.

You know, there is only one verse that sometimes give me reason to worry....

Galatians 5:19-21:

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. The word witchcraft is a translation of the greek word pharmacia, which tended to refer to mind altering drugs...
On the other hand it seems to be right down there with self ambition and envy...

I think it is important as a form of balance for christians to remember that even the purest deed you could perform is nothing but a filthy rag in the eyes of the creator...

Rather than worries, this reinforces the fact that the bible was written as a guide for how to be a nice human, but who would listen if they were not threatened a little...Time to put a little green into my bubbling cauldron my little pretties....Ahahahahhahahahaha!

I like this man geeze there is so much to think about ! Keep the comments coming guys by the way I know the difference between good and bad just like everyone else this is somewhat in the middle. And people who talk about a single conciousness or something like that seem somewhat unbeleivable but i will always keep an open mind
