...i quit 'em, cigarettes i mean...after twenty years...cold turkey...for the last decade i averaged 30 a day...than i said no...

...i'm on day 7, seems pretty easy actually...i think i've been scammed all these years, cigarettes are not harder to quit than heroin, like i was told...heroin withdrwal involves puke and liquid shits at day 2...

...at day 2 i was mildly irritable...now, at day 7, i feel groggy...i find it harder to wake up in the morning...i don't remember ever hearing that quitting cigarettes makes you drowsy...my wife concurs(she's at day 14)...wtf?...

Congrats...I quit cold turkey...but that was 15 years ago.

Hmmm...makes you groggy...don't remember that either. Could be a worst side effect.

Wish you and your wife continued will power.

I have now been tobacco-free for 283 days and still going strong. the first week to two weeks was the hardest time. it was hard for me to breath. i quit canna and ciggs at the same time, not really bud but I figures it would hellp me with my quit. I have now reverted back to bud. I am very happy now that I quit and so is my family. you should feel tired also. your body is ridding yourself of the nicotine, tar, ect... that are associated with cigarettes. its hard to wake in the morning cuz your body needs xtra sleep to ris itself of poison. after two weeks it gets better. now I can do anything without feeling winded or lightheaded. its great. gl on your quit!!!!

Hey, just quit smokin' aswell, congrats to everyone. The way i saw it i had better things to buy with my money. I also had better things to smoke aswell:P Anyways cudos to all of you who have quit and god strength to those of you still fightin the beast, best'o'luck.
Cheers, Sarge

I roll my joints with tobacco, but had a 15 a day cigarette habit first. I don't smoke cigarettes at all now and even still I get by having dramatically cut down the joint smoking

I say we let them post new threads. It's not like the new threads are that annoying. If somebody doesn't want to read it, they don't click on it. If nobody wants to respond, the thread will die. If people do respond, then the thread was a good idea (or so horrible that somebody HAD to respond).

Sometimes I smoke bowls with tobacco.. It gives it some more flavor.

I'm 12 years with out cigarettes, also quit cold turkey after 14 yrs of smoking and at 2 packs a day. It was tough and for yrs I craved a smoke. I had to quit smoking weed about a month ago and tried to smoke a cigarette... I don't know why I liked them so much before, tasted nasty and such a dirty habit. I do smoke cigars every once in a while, those are tastey. Good luck to you that have recently quit stay strong!!! stay high

i'm thrilled that someone else has figured out the scam of the "quit smoking" industry. people are led to believe that nicotine is this mysterious culprit that keeps everyone smoking, and it's total bullshit.

the REAL issue is the behavioral habit. it's the commemoration of every moment of life with a cigg. ate breakfast? have a smoke. had sex? have a smoke. on the computer? have a smoke. when you quit smoking and have these "life moments", there is an overwhelming sense of nakedness without having the cigarette that you've had for x number of years. that's not nicotine. this feeling of nakedness persists for months. the nicotine is gone in a couple weeks. i know people who are on the gum for over a year. that's what passes for success now?

the real key to success is to re-learn your whole life without a cigg. so many people try so hard to avoid ANY cigarette smoke, and this is a damning mistake. the idea isn't to avoid cigarette smoke/nicotine, it's to avoid giving in to the HABIT, and if you don't present yourself with opportunities to overcome the habit, you WILL fail. not enough people understand the difference between an addiction and a habit. there's a reason why people who only smoke tobacco with their weed don't just up and start smoking butts one day.

i quit for 3 years straight without so much as a single drag. my downfall was actually my success. after 3 years with no butts i had a butt at a bar while drunk, and i almost dropped to my knees and wept from the awesomeness. AND there was absolutely NO consequence. i didn't even remember i had the cigg till days later. so my stupid ass got it in my head that i could handle having a cigg when i went out for a drink. that eventually blossomed into me actually looking forward to having drinks just so i could have that coveted cigg. this started to chip away at my will power. long story short, that didn't work out so well for me. it took about 6 months, but i got sucked right back in.

anyway, congrats to the op and everyone else. embrace the suffering. it has a purpose.

Total Head's posts never disappoint- always so full of insight..

I apologize though; for some reason the mobile app was showing the last page of threads as the first..

Pretty easy to stop cigarettes using weed. My dependency on marijuana is only born of self medicating though. Would you consider patients nothing more than addicts because they need it for their symptoms? My dad talks about breaking my addiction like I didn't 'cure' my dependency on various pills.

I'm working on helping my grandma stop smoking. She can't roll and can only get halfway through one of the rollups I give her rather than 3 packets of straight cigarettes a week.

30 a day??? 2 packs a day??? Wow lol, congrats indeed peoples.

I only smoke about 5 a day but still adds up to quite a bit money wise, I'll quit completely after weed is finally legalized and becomes cheaper, so hopefully soon lol.
