Smoke won't hold an ember?!? Help

I am now enjoying the benefits of my first ever grow.

Come out with a good taste, smell, and leaves you with a good buzz off a couple tokes.

Problem is that when I pack a bowl and light it I must keep the lighter flame on it. It never gets a spreading ember.

I used Miracle Grow nutes for my first grow. I harvested the buds and hung them to dry for 9 days and have been curing them in a glass jar for a couple of weeks.

Any suggestions about how to get it to hold an ember??
 
Its dry and the stems snap right in two. I have left the lid off the glass jar 3 or 4 times overnight. Could it be the way it was harvested or even something that can help in the days leading up to harvest?
 
its most likely the screen in your pipe if you have one.. i have to pop out my screens every couple bowls and clean them..
 
i always clean my bowl out..before i smoke... need that good airflow.. otherwise your half ass hittin a bowl of kush:weed:
 
Thanx! I broke up the buds {they were pretty solid} and spread em out in a paper bag overnight. Packed a bowl and it burned like a champ!
 
Yeah but when it doesn't hold the ember the lighter flame pulls right through and burns the center out of the bowl. I then have to stir the bowl up, and then the rest of the bowl starts to have a burnt charcoal taste.

But after I broke up the nug and dried it in a paper bag overnight it burned better and I didn't get the charcoal taste.

I am in the middle of my second grow and we'll see how it finishes with better grow environment and proper nutes.
 
You know what I never thought about getting one until you just mentioned it. I mean I've seen em advertised.

Maybe I'll try it out.
 
yeah you should definatly look into one man i love mine. hows the buds taste weed demon i cant wait to harvest mine im transplanting clones tonight
 
My first batch taste good man. Considering that I experimented and practicly tortured my first set of ladies while I was learning.
I have smoked prime with that distinct chronic fruity flavor and hope my second batch will produce a better finish.

I am going to finish flowering four plants with Maple Syrup / Corn Syrup / Molasses / Honey. I want to see if there is a difference in the final smoke.

I got a few weeks to go before getting there though.
 
Yeah you mentioned it in your grow journal and it gave me the idea. When I mentioned it to my wife she said we should try a few different sugars. I am stoked to find out how it works.

you'll have to let me know how the corn syrup finishes for you to see if it is similar on my end.

Burn a bowl!
