This is a small outdoor grow, for some personal smoke. Some of you may have seen my progress in the North Carolina Outdoor thread, if not you're in the right spot.

I recently moved from the city to a small mill town in North Carolina. Leaving behind an indoor grow with a former partner, I was forced to start from scratch. Being short on change, and in need of some smoke I decided to grow outdoors for the first time. I've aided friend's grows in the past, but never on my own outside. I am an avid vegetable grower so the knowledge is there.

Location; I decided to grow in a flood plain along a small stream on private property. I started walking the land in January, so I'm pretty comfortable in my spot. The plot gets around 5-6 hrs of sunshine daily. Large number of pine and cedar, along with smaller shrubs. Pests include deer, rabbit, spider mites, ants, slugs, and aphids. others I'm sure...

Genetics; I'm growing Hindu Kush, an unnamed strain from Mexico with kush qualities - which has been somewhat stabilized, and an unknown bagseed.

Soil; Amended native soil (clay). Miracle Grow Organic Choice garden soil - Green bag, lime, composted kitchen scraps, and finely crushed egg shells.

Nutes; Fox Farm Peace of Mind 5-5-5, Plant Life Products Bud Start

These pics were taken on the 11th.

#1 is a Kush which almost became lunch.
#2 Kush
#3 Bagseed
#4 Unnamed Strain (we'll call it Senõr Kush)
#5 Plot A. (B comes later)

For the first 2-3 weeks I had to battle constant rain, and the occasional hungry animal. not pictured are 3 unfortunate casualties of war.

RIP. :joint:

Pictures as of 5.18.09

#1 Rebounding Kush, 3 tops!
#2 Kush
#3 Bagseed - Proving to be a runt
#4 Senõr Kush - topped before photo
#5 Tobin decided to follow me to the patch. I'm hoping all of the scent marking he did will help deter some of the critters.

Now about aforementioned Plot B. I've decided to sex a female Hindu or Senõr Kush to eventually clone. These have been under 12/12 since day 6 as a seedling. I put them outside today to get some sunshine. Once I get the desired female, I will use her clones to plant at another location.

your cat's rad :eyesmoke: sorry to hear about your loss tho.. just gotta keep them more protected. sounds like a deer chomped it. I made a fishing line fence for the deer around my area. do a line every 6 or so inches and haven't had any problems with them yet

why 12/12?? they need more light. 12/12 is for flowering yo. I've never started from seeds, but I'm pretty sure most people do 24 hrs for the first week with seedlings

i've pondered the fishing line, and probably will eventually set up a perimeter. as of now I've been using strong scented powdered, along with pissing around my plants on the regular. A friend of mine is going to give me a bottle of coyote urine soon so that should solve a lot of my problems.

here's my soap contraption. Pill bottle with small holes drilled in the bottom, filled with powdered soap. When the wind blows, even slightly, soap drops down on the ground keeping the scent fresh. works pretty well, so far.

that's my asshole cat Tobin, he pees everywhere... and he's fixed. he just does it to do it, vet said he's healthy. this is my homeboy Marley.. chillest cat ever, acts like a dog. I found him in an old VW beetle out in the woods, he was the only kitten that didn't run...

I've got a 12/12 from seed grow going, that's not pictured in this thread. I popped these two in to sex them along with my others. They should show in another week or so, and then I will put them back in veg to start cutting.

I've always wanted to try the 12/12 lollypop method, in the past I vegged 18/6 for about a month before flowering. Here's some pics, Senõr Kush under a 400w MH/HPS.

here's a little indoor CFL grow I have going on. nothing fancy, just some smoke in a small space. I took one of the girls that was just beginning to show sex and put it outside. going to snip a few clones as well for outside. they won't get big, but it'll be something. :blsmoke:

nice, how many cfl's?
after breaking a couple, 4 26w 2700k. seems to be working ok, but i definitely would like to have more. 12 would be ideal. :bigjoint:

but it's doing it's job. I'm gonna use it as a way to get some quick smoke, and to start plants going outside.

I need to get pics of the outdoor ones that survived our weeks of rain and a deer onslaught.
