Smell on the buds

Well I just finished a nice harvest. I noticed the smell on the buds was crazy potent when it was growing and now that I harvested. It's not as smelly as before. I've seen some buds just reek still in the bag. I'm just curious how do they their buds so stinky? Once I finish drying the smell seems to be mostly gone. Does it have to do with indoor and outdoor? I would think if you grew indoor the smell would be more potent.

Do a nice cure and the smell will be back... more potent and tastier. I ran RP purple wreck and it was a stinker in the garden. During the dry the smell faded and smelled dry. After a 3 week cure you can smell it through my pocket in a ziploc. Cure it and you will not be disappointed anymore

hmm interesting thank you, but how does the smell come back? Doesn't it go away? Some buds I've smelled were scentless.
