Ok, so i'll be starting a new grow and i want to have all the data in my equation on paper.
I've googled the subject "northern lights smell" and found diferent oppinions and i'm not really sure what to think.
Some people claim they were growing 2-4 plants and the smell was not noticeable at all (in all stages of flower).
Others say you def need some smell control.
Some say NL smells a bit bad and powerful.

I'm not sure what to believe. I need to grow stealthy this time, last time i couldn't have anyone in my house because of the horrid smell (i loved it, my gf said it smelled like horseshit - how does she know that? i don't want to know).

Another question i have: If say NL does smells a bit (not a as powerful as not being able to get people in the house without telling them first you have a dead skunk somewhere behind the couch), can i get a jar of ONA Block/Gel to solve that smell ?
I'd rather it smelled like clean laundry in one room, than marijuana in my whole house.

I'd rather not get a carbon filter because i grow in my room and i have trouble sleeping as it is(i cant change the location).

Sorry for asking something that has been asked so many times, but i need a definitive answer :). Thanks in advance.

i guess it depends where you get the Northern Lights from, some breeders have smelly ones(pyramid?),others dont (i think nirvana?)

and then,it could be pheno-based.

Ozone generators/ air purifiers are a good choice for your situation. you should think about looking on Amazon for specs. and reviews.

If that picture in your first post is what you have going right now you will need a filter! I don't give a shit what strain you are growing if you have that many flowering! If you can't smell the plants withought a filter you are just not doing a good job!!!! ;) I got 2 carbon filters off ebay from HTG that said they didn't have any shitty carbon in it. I run two with 2 1000k lights over 8-9 4-5' plants and you can't smell shit! If I were you I would get the filters/fans and you will get use to the noise! You can also kill the fan when you go to sleep as long as your lights aren't on. I wouldn't reccomend that with that many plants in a tent. Like I said deal with the noise brotha your growing weed!!!!! GL man.

i said 2 plants, i don't have the space to grow that many. I am growing as a hobby first of all and don't want to stink-up my whole house. I was asking if ONA is any good. Have you ever tried ONA Block ?

It works, its not a carbon filter, as someone put it earlier, if you don't need a carbon filter your not doing it right ;)

Activated carbon is the shit, kills smells, on a would probably work for a small scale just fine though I always considered it just a supplemental. For such a small grow a small carbon filter would easily do the Job, I would even consider ne of the DIY options with a cheap fan. I have big filters and am amazed at how effective they are. The smell will be super pungent and the filter will clear it in minutes.

well, i guess im going to build me a filter. I hate DIY because you're not certain it works until you test it, and when the time comes for me to test it it will be to late for it not to work... I live in an apartment with a shared hallway. I don't want those dbags to know what i'm doing.

I guess i'll risk

i designed a box, with a screen top, filled with dryer fragrance sheet thingy's. grow-box will vent into bottom of box, and passively diffuse through dryer sheets. it will act as a plenum, to off-set any back-pressure created. not built yet........but an idea.

I have 4 flowering pants (3 well into it), and I use one of the Ona blocks in my closet. Works great, no smell outside the closet.
All I did was unscrew the cap, and then rest the cap back on top of the block.
