Smart Pots outside- how large?

Thanks BB - I'm trying. Real happy this year and also a bit worried. The bigger they are the easier they fall. I have to keep my plant numbers within my limit so I'm trying to get the most out of them. If I had the room and wasn't concerend about plant count I'd go with more smaller plants. Although we all like the monster buds too.

Right on and you to > KEEP ON TRUCKIN ;)

I'm not sure. about 2lbs+ of fine big buds and 1lb+ of buds I use to cook and make hash with. & about 2-3 days of trimming.

LOL, 6 months and the thread lives on...How ya doin' caz? Any new grow going? I finally got into indoor, with 3 separate grow areas.
It's a hell of a lot of fun, AND work, LOL. Take care my friend, Good luck & good grow.......BB

Hey BB,
Yea, I took a break :joint:but the growing bug got to me. I couldn't wait till spring so I had to get something going. 2+ weeks into flower,:weed: smart pots of course. Indoor growing is a totaly different thing too. It helps me out with the winter blues. But now the days are getting longer! :) and it's time to start prepareing the garden.:leaf:

:peace:

What size are you going with this year as far as pots. Sounds like you had a decent year last year. Good Luck dirrtyd

I am going to reuse the 200 gallon smart pots and roots pots(cheaper) that I have. I'm sure they are overkill but I like them and they worked great. I'm sure a 65 or 100 gallon pot would just as nice?. The plants get that wide anyway (50"+) so some extra soil to hold things from topping over and hold more water sounded good to me. It was more than a one year investment too.

My first outdoor plants many years ago were in 5 gallon buckets. I was happy back then, but things have sure changed ;)

Hi Man, Check out my videos at MRCOUCHLOK Youtube chanell. You will see that the 65 gallon smart pots worked fine for me. I also grew a few in 30 gallon Smart pots. The 30s will be shown in the videos, They are the plants in the center of my grow area. They were cloned off my bigger plants so I didnt figure they would need 65 gallon pots. They had less time to Veg compaired to the mothers of those clones. The bigger plants in my videos are in the 65s. Anyways You will get nice yield with the 65s. I am starting my new grow in April 2011. Deffently going with 65s again. Good luck man and be ready to mix a big batch of soil. In the end, it is all worth the hard work you put into your grow. Have plenty Jars ready :) Your gonna need them!

Hey All, if you are near a ".99 only Store", check them every so often for these little honeys. They usually range, 22/28 oz. capacity, (volume, not weight).
I have about 150 of them now, picked up over the last 2 years, and they really work excellent and the price sure as hell is right. Good luck & good grow.......BB

Sorry bill, I don't mean to clutter your thread with off-topic...BB

the prob growing a 10ft plant in a 10 gallon pot. is that it uses all the nutrient is the soil veg and there not enough left for the plant to flower to full potential. this does depend on the strain some wont grow that big. and 10gallons will be plenty. in full sun those containers really get hot. even covering them with hay. i like growing in clay its a good base to start.

That is why we FEED our girls, regularly, through out the vegging and flowering! You have to ADD nutrients.
Good luck & good grow.......BB
