Can In ask what the soil is?? if it MG(Mircle grow) then the soil has been to wet and there will be small white wormlike bugs in there. I had the small white bugs,,so I let the soil dry and this seemed to kill them. they ended up in a water trough I had in the veg room to raise humidty. a water tray will make them jump from the pot to the water if you let the soil dry out. I dripped a drop of bleach in there and it killed them all. thats into the trough not the pot. I dont recommend that..haha.
and any of there comrades that followed into the water were killed instantly. The white bugs I had didnt seem to do any harm to my plants,I didnt like them though,. so yeah try letting the soil dry and that should get them.
Just my exp./

I can't give you advice..

But I know if it were me, I would do a water with hydrogen peroxide and water mix.. maybe 5 to 1..
It will kill fungus gnat larva (and others) on contact.. ..

Like I say, this is only what I would do and have done.. don't EVER do anything I would do unless you have done your own research from multiple sources... or.. are feeling lucky.

No it fucking doesn't.

I'm going to say fungus knats but your going to have to do better than "little white bumps" Are there tiny tiny bugs flying around? like hanging around the top of the pot and then when you disturb the dirt they fly all around? Those are fungus knats.

Best way to get rid of them in soil for good is to follow ALL three of these steps.

1. Put an inch of sand on top of your dirt.
2. Hang a bunch of yellow sticky traps around the grow room
3. Dunk the whole pot and plant in azimax.

Hydroperoxide doesn't kill insects on contact. yeah, I read that stupid website that said that was the way to get rid of them but I kept searching and found out that was bunk.

I got them from a friends clone. I'm using hydroton. I went the sticky trap and hypoasis mite route, mostly cause I don't use pesticides and I dig biological control. I also like the idea of little bugs in my soil eating fungus knat larvae in a big gory display of dominance. Some times I turn off the fans and try to hear them screaming.

Why yes.. yes it does..

Hydrogen peroxide and water at a solution of say 5 to 1 (stronger if you like) kills the larva instantly.. and stickies for the adults.. you break the breeding cycle between adults and larva and it is all she wrote.

I don't know what 'website' you are referring to.. I have been employing for roughly 20 years before the internet was even available. *S* I am not surprised there is a site that would suggest it though.

It's all myself will use on my plants.. the occasional time new soil brings them in.

Fungus gnats are a problem in any system, soil or not. Get a pest management routine and stop worrying.

simply douse your soil with a gallon of Synthetic motor oil.. Make sure its 10w - 40 ! or it wont drain correctly. you can add some salt to that but im sure the oil will kill EVERY life form in that pot :) remember to PH the run off.
