Small Stealth Perpetual Grow

So I had a few requests for a journal of my small scale stealth perpetual soil grow. The beauty of this is that all growth stages happen simultaniously so i can document it all at once. So here goes with some details...

I grow in soil - mostly my own home compost that I sterilize in the microwave. This is mixed with perlite worm castings, a dash of guano, bone meal, dolomite, egg shells, and Biotone - a mycorrhizae additive. All my water is dechlorinated tap water.

Clone chamber - 2 23w CFL 1'x2'x2'

I've been cloning in oasis floral foam - it gives good O2 and breaks apart easily as the plant stem grows larger. Each of the containers on the rt side has 4 clones in it. For the first week or so I keep a humidity dome (clear cup with some holes in them). Some take longer than others, but I've been getting nearly 100%.
Once roots appear, they go into small soil containers with my soil mix. Those on the left side have been in soil about 1 week.

In the back, I've just built a small aerocloner (8 clones) that I'm giving a try. No results yet.

From here, they go either to my veg chamber or multiple clones rooted clones will go straight to the Flower chamber.

Veg chamber - 4 23w CFL 2'x2'x3'

On the Left is dear old mom. Center has been in soil for about 3 weeks. On rt, about 5 weeks. I LST with coated copper wire.

Flower chamber - 2 150w HPS in air cooled hoods. 2'x3'x3.5'

Pots shown are 1.5 gal. size. My next round of plants will be in 3 gal containers to provide space for either 1 large (veg ~ 6 weeks) or up to 5 smaller clones. Each pot spends 2 weeks at each of six positions within the cab. Each is also rotated every 2 days to provide even lighting. Again, branches are trained down to an even canopy

A plant starts at position 1 - on the left side of the door, cycles in and around and ends up at position 6 at the left side of the door. I wanted easiest access to the plants that will require the most attention.

Next we'll look at each current occupant....

Currently the flower chamber has several hold overs from my previous system (the clone and veg, formerly clone/veg and flower) I had a 150 in addition to the 4 23w CFL. Heat and vertical height became limiting factors. So I built this flower chamber from a set of utility shelves. The shelves themselves went together in about 4 minutes. I created panels from reflective coated foam to case in a space, then covered the outside with a cardboard box facade

So our current occupant at position 1 is 2 clones, about 3 weeks old, 1 week into flower. I label each pot with the date it went into flower just to for reference. sometimes I like to let a plant go a little long - these are a Grapefruit x Hash plant a friend brought back from BC a few years ago. I like this strain to go 12-13 weeks if I can. I've had this line of clones going for about 4 years now.

Position 2 also has 2 plants. Both put into flower after about 2 weeks of rooting

We'll skip to position 5. She's been in ~ 9 weeks...

And last but not least, at number 6...
She'll come down completely in a week or so. I've snipped a few samples. As always, very nice.....

I gotta hand it too ya. You got a lot in a very small amount of space. It is all very sealthy aswell. Have you figured out what your average harvest will be every 2weeks? This is really getting my brain turning. Keep up the good work. I will be watching. Please keep us updated.

In my pervious setup, during the non-summer months (heat was an issue) I could pull 1-1.5 oz every 2 weeks pretty easy. I need to better fill the available space with bud - as you can see currently, there's alot of open space between alot of those buds - space that should be filled with MORE BUD.

So I'm hopeing that with my new set up, optimized for heat and light, grow them out longer and more space etc... that I can pull out 2-3 oz per cycle.

I've always hear of the old 1g/watt thing, but I have no idea if that concept translates in a perpetual grow.

I'll post more as I get everything ramped up a bit more...

i just chcked out this thread as because of an invitation from a pm.
i must apologize first because im stoned and do not wish to read the entire thing at one time. but i did skim over the pages and it is a pretty good setup. Id be happy to have the equipment running for a personal grow. However I do think that i see some things that may help this setup run more efficiently once i go and read the entire thread to see all the details.

how many watts are you running in your flowering room? it looks like 2 400watt hps w/ reflectors. If you could reduce floor space to get the clones colas closer together , then that would better utilize the light that you have by focusing more of it directly upon the clones.
just saw that you like to leave them going a bit long, im supposing for a more stoney buzz....... if you focus your light more you will pull more weight and trichromes out of your plants.

First, a shot of the next plant in line to go into flower. It will get transplanted into a 3 gallon container and moved in a few days.

A couple of shots of the hoods - Each is counterbalanced with a weight hung from the top with nylon cord and eye screws. I move them where I want and they stay there...

Lastly bud shot of the next in line for the chopping block. Still a ways to go...

how long do you veg these babies? and how tall are they? you might have said and i missed it im not sure, i just wanted to know how you kept them so short during veg/flower. how much do you get per plant in yield at that height? great job though its very impressive. -vega

Hard to answer - I'm still sort of transitioning to the new system, so I don't have it really tweaked yet.

BUT, I'm currently going with about a 6 week veg. I top and train them alot, so they're about a foot tall, but maybe 18 in. or more from base to tip when they go to flower. They'll reach probably 24-30 inches tall when flowered. yield hopefully 2-3 oz - maybe more

Like I mentioned, I got my first 3 gal. plants to go in soon. We'll see actual yeild in about 12-13 weeks...

I gotta say, all the plants are sooooo much happier in this new box... Can't wait to see what we can get out of it....

well youre definately doing the right thing with them cause they look great and dont seem to want to get any taller, they look really happy. i hope i can train my to stay down and grow out like that. as long as the yield is nice and the high is worth the wait then its an awesome grow. and your box is very nice too btw. -vega

Just don't be afraid to get pretty extreme with the bending and tying down. They take it just fine - they always bounce back and look for more!!

It's been a while - just wanted to give an update.

The train is rolling up to speed - I've got my plant size pretty well dialed in and and putting a new one in every 2 weeks.

Also a pic of one of my christmas buds....

Happy holidays everyone!
