small grow help

Hey RIU users, i plan on moving out in the next 4-5 months and am looking at a small house or apartment, i am looking into a grow tent i found on amazon its just the tent but it is the cheapest tent i can find that is small. everything else i will be getting at local hydro store/hardware store. this is going to be a soil grow at first till i get the hang of things, then try more advanced ways.

for lighting wise i am going with a 400w switchable mh/hps and am also considering getting a 2ft 4 bulb t5 system for staring off.also with 125w cfls, (or would a CoolTube Air cooled Reflector 5"

as for soil and nutes i will be going with fox farm not sure which one yet so i need suggestions on which to start withand what to trans plant into.

besides that what else would i really need? im not really sure how my ventilation would work the vent ports are 4" so i really dont know.

get the 400. Forget the CFL's and T5 although a single 2-foot CFL is always nice to germinate seeds with.

yeah i was thinking the cfl's would work nice in this pc ger/veg box i am currently building. but with the 400w i just might have to much heat probs in this small tent

Your going to have to run an AC hood and supplemental ventilation as well.

if you vent well, the a/c may not be required, i only used it in mid summer, your plan sound good, might want to get a dehumidifier for late flowering. i personally don't like feminised cuz i always hear hermie reports with them, i also don't like autos but that's all personal preference

im on my first grow with autos too, buddas Red Dwarf, as of yet all seems well, they stink abit though but i aint got a carbon filter, they get bigger than stated but i aint worried as hopefully they yeild more plus its not tall and lanky. its tall bushy and budding well, and im only half way through its life cycle, (28 days), its already about 15 inches

nice new uk, im trying to go with the scrog method with theses guys in my pc then up it to my grow cab, post of both will be up shortly.
zem witht eh fem seeds what do you mean? only reason im looking at theses 2 kinds of seeds is time, and i also dont wanna worry bout males.

feminised seeds are made by inducing hermies then pollinating with them, although good breeders have come a long way in minimizing the transmission of hermie gene to offspring, i still see many people reporting hermie flowers when growing fem seeds, i never saw the point in growing fems either, how hard is it really to grow some plants then yank the males as soon as they show sex? + with the correct techniques you will be getting a very high female ratio with regular seeds, i never get below 70% females

alright plus if i get regular seed ill save sum cash. for the first time im just usingbagseeds. and build my own room.

ok then follow these instructions and i assure you will get a VERY high female/male ratio
1.High Nitrogen low potassium
2.High moisture in environment and seedbed
3.mild low temps around 60-65
4.color of light, use MH keep the HPS for flowering
5.length of daylight, shorter day like 18/6 or 16/8 is better
avoid any kind of stress and follow these rules especially 4 weeks in veg and you will get the highest rates of females, 90% +
