Small CFL LST grow...question

i topped a plant and LST'd the top 4 colas to almost horizontal...eventually they will be...my question was does chopping off the lower branches, that get hardly any light, make the plant i guess concentrate its energy to just the top buds?

well if you remove branches and leaves the plant will have no other choice then to allocate resources to available outputs.

im growing with CFLs right now..looking at my second harvest here in april! i have a large enough area i dont need to LST them, tho i did have to bend two of my plants because they maxed out on height.
