slow seedlings in coco

hello. I was hoping someone would look at my journal and let me know what they think about my seedlings. I planted them 11 days ago and after looking around I think I should have a few more leaves. Or are other people lying about how old their plants are?

I have a 2.5 week old plant that is now 10' and is growing day by day at least 2' per day now. That's what 2 years grow experience gets you.

So this is straight coco coir you are growing in (I notice you said GH brand)?

Coco coir tends to hold onto Ca and Mg a bit strongly. You might consider mixing in some dolomitic limestone before planting, or use more liquid Ca/Mg supplement, depending on your tap water source. New seedlings really don't require much, although coco coir itself doesn't have much nutritive value. One thing I notice from your pictures is that you leave a lot of extra space at the top of the container. Fill it up entirely, so the roots have more space to grow.

I also notice some stretch, keep the light closer and make sure you have adequate circulation. CFLs should be within several inches of the plants.

Thank you. Ive been working on increasing temp and light. It seems to do the trick. I could have probably avoided some stretch with full containers. They are growing. Just slow. I guess roots before shoots right.
