slow growing - 1 week from breaking ground

First I would flush with 25-30 gallons of clear mountain spring water collected by virgins. Next I would completely defoliate the plant except for the cotyledons. If the stem remains purple I would either wrap it in a color more to my liking or adjust the pH to 1.5 to 3.5 ( the same as stomach acid ) and that will solve everything...........OR

Leave it alone, it is a week old seedling not a plant and is still developing. In addition it is common for some strains to exhibit a purple coloring on the stem, my Afghan Kush was deep purple from start to finish. Diagnosing a seedling with nutrient deficiencies at this stage is just silly.

That's the slowest part for me in hydro. It didn't used to be,I don't know what I've forgotten.
I've got 1 not quiet that big 'bout a month old it just started taking off, now purple stem is gone & it's growing good.
Last time same way ended up producing the most I've had.

Remember- Root's before Shoot.
Your using RO/ IMO- I'd be using some Cal/Mag even if it doesn't need it. You can avoid problems down the road by using it as a preventative supplement.
Yep, the purple in seedlings is normal.
She looks good, let her do her thing for a while.
Remember "Love Kills" "The less you do the better"
Your first grow, don't do much watch her grow, watch your leaves, and stem color.
if she doesn't look normal come here to RIU and just ask if she looks good or not. Members are more than willing to help

Good Luck on Your Grow.

yeah man, I fluckin love RIU, way better than any other I have visited. thanks for the advise! I have cal mag, but I just figure the bone meal and azomite and oyster flour and Epsom would be enough. I don't like dolomite lime and didn't put any in the soil. PH is dead nuts at 6.5. 1tsp/g of cal/mag should be a good compliment to the waterings?

Yea should be fine I believe most companies cal mag is 5 ml per gallon.

well what I have is calcium nitrate (15.5-0-0 + 19% Ca) and magnesium sulfate (19.8% Magnesium, 26% Sulfur). I would end up adding ca Nitrate first and take a ppm reading then add the mg sulfate to a final ppm. I figure every time I water, it will most likely be with tea as the soils got everything in it. I will target a ca/mg ppm of 100ppm as to not overdo anything and throw off my nutrient and soils balance.

The soil looks wet apart from that it looks fine. Make sure you don't overwater, seedlings don't like it. What size pot is it in? what lights you got on it and how close?
