Is slight bleaching of leaves a problem?? I scrog so its not the big fan leaves, because I try to tuck them under bud sites. The bleaching is occurring more at the top were the bud site is about to develop. The bleaching is not occurring on all upper bud sites (8th day of flower), its only on about half of the flowers or the closest ones to the light. Im using a 600 watt hps and keeping it about 18" away. Is this ok slight bleaching ok????? Or should I move the light up higher or go back to the 450 hps, the bleaching is occurring because of the light being too close.

Just raise it up and try to have good ventilation and sure it is not above 80 degrees where the top bud sites are. Good luck.

Yes the temperature of 80 suggestion is just so you have the best possible temp, if the new light you are using is making it hotter than 80 you will get even more problems than your simple bleaching problem. HTH.

Also get oscillating fans to move the plant branches around constantly so they are not As affected by focused hot spots.

Like we said, raise the light, ventilate, 80 degrees, oscillating fans and you will be doing great overall. Good luck

Ya, sure its a problem. If theyre not lush and green theres usually a problem. Good news is that even bleached plants can give good harvests. Some strains yellow out in earlier flower more than others too so if its new genetics then who knows. I find bleached plants ripen faster...just what ive seen.

Okay like I said I am scrogging so leaves are now filled out to a 2x2 area. Should I just go back to the 450hps and keep it about 13" away instead off the 600hps at 19" away that seems to be bleaching it?? I mean the 450hps can cover a 3x3 area and my plant isn't gonna get any bigger than that for sure, but will there be a difference in yield??

I dont think A sixer a 18 inches will bleach anything.

Nobody even asked for a pic of the problem.

I run my sixer at 8 inches from the glass on my hood.

Pic and i really doubt this is bleaching.

Id stay with the 600 if its already in there. Dont be scared. I have a table thats getting a little....well a lot yellow and the buds are still really good sized. I wouldnt back down now.

Its slight bleaching, only on the buds closest to the plant, not even the fan leaves are bleaching cause I try to tuck them under... Will try to get a pic with lights off in the next couple hours.

Anyone else?? Go back to 450hps or stay with the 600?

1 600 is no where near the light saturation point. Pics please.

Maybe someone with more knowledge and proof might change my mind. I know people who plants touch their hood and no bleaching.

Please someone provide evidence if this is feasible...

I have my plant 8, i repeat EIGHT inches away from my hood.

Pics or it didnt happen.
