I just started tissue culturing, and would love to share. What I hope to accomplish is to get RID OF MY MOM ROOM! So this is where it starts! I bought "super starts tissue culture kit and so far so good.

I took 30 planlets on sept 9 2011. Here are pics and my clean roomIMG_2047.jpgIMG_2074.jpgIMG_2075.jpgIMG_2076.jpg

Into something that resembles this. Lots less space, lights, bugs, deterioration of genes, AND MAINTENANCE!!!!IMG_2133.jpgIMG_2074.jpg there are lots of benefits to being in culture. Besides being able to propagate on a huge level with less light and space but you can Regenerate plants that have had gene damage over the years(clone only strains). You can also breed and mutate genes. If your smart enough you can extract DNA and isolate genes. Put those genes into agrobacterium and transfer them into other plants. I have heard of people isolating the gene that's responsible for THC production and put it into tomatoes, cucumber, and orange trees.

Oh wow, they're growing a ball at the bottom! The last time I looked in this thread, I wasn't sure what was going on with them! Are they working towards growing a root system?
Not right now. They are in hormones for JUST shoot growth, so they will grow with no roots until I put them in a rooting based media. Then they will grow roots. I am making a video on how to do it, it's hard to film, but once I have all the steps I'll post it here.

Well there is tons of info, and I'll try my best to post it. I will post all links on my fist post. Good to start here http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plant_tissue_culture
If you google "super starts tissue culture kit" that is what I started with. It has everything you need to begin. And o.k. Directions.
I will post some other useful links later. There is also a tread by Canndo that is very good.

I picked up a tissue culture kit up at my hydro store about 2 months ago. Still haven't had the time to open it. How has your experience been so far?
