skunk 1 400w tent grow

Hi guys,ive tried growing a few times and had bad results everytime.im just about to start another tent grow,4 skunk 1 from seed in soil.i plan to use a 400w mh for veg on 18/6 and a 400w hps for flower,is this a good idea? Also what sort of time frame should I veg for? And what realistic yield could I expect? My tent is only a small one,about a metre squared and about 5 ft high.i will upload pics soon as my seeds are still germinating.thanks guys

some pictures would be nice to have.. and also i use 18/6 for veg.. and 12/12 for grow.. Also what dimensions is your tent. Post pics lol i can give you a little more info if you do. And yield is entirely out of my reach.. very difficult to tell.

ash honestly i'm using a 400w and wished i had a 250 heat in tents suck well mine does lol since its in my bedroom i have to have a ac in my window its march -.-

Yea shag I was thinking the same thing,i used 600s before and always got too hot thats why I went down to 400s is there any way I can bring my temps down if it gets too hot? My tent is also in my bedroom.

If this was my grow then i would do the 1 plant under the 1 light,this may sound daft but veg for about 4 week don't top the main cola or yu might struggle with height.I should guesstamate about 7/8 oz bone dry of the one plant under that light,has long has you get the nutes and room spot on

tyke your tent is bigger then mine i would say go with the 400 just make sure you can get rid of the hot air my tent is 39x39x79 but not if you cant get rid of the heat

Well you want clod air blowing threw your tent 24/7... or atleast the hours your light is on cause hps give off a lot of heat compared to cfls. But hps is the way to go... i usually grow during the winter time hard lol... and in the summer usually 1-2plants per light. otherwise you can try cfl bulbs but you will only get about 1oz on average per plant

dont do that...bad bad idea..bad..u dont wana be the guy who burns his crib down growing buds on the local news...if that doesnt happen you'll dramiticly decrease the life and output of the bulb..
back on topic......
you can veg /w an HPS if short on cash, veg for 3 to five weeks if all goes well you wana start flowering when plants are about 12 inches tall and healthy skunk #1 will grow 8 to 12 inches after flowering is induced yeild is rly hard to say...maybe arround an ounce a plant if you are a great or lucky grower..it may be a lil more or a lil less dont hold me to that number..when i grew skunk i let the plants get about 3 ft tall before flower and they all put out huge quanities..that small of plants im jus not sure...hit me up if you need tips ive been at this for a few be EZ good luck

Cheers guys,my seeds have started germinating so ill get them in my tent tomorrow,ill keep updating and upload pics when I get to a pc as my phone wont let me upload

Ash I can say you need to make temp reduction number 1 priority or you won't be growing much my tent is basically the same size with 250w cfl and I get hit issues with fan and extrator so a hps is gonna be alot warmer - gl mate

I may have sorted my heat issue,ive put another fan on the outside of my tent blowing directly through thehole in the side and my temp is sitting at a constant 80 degrees,i think optimum temp is between 72~78 degrees but I spose 80 is ok
