Skelly HP

Anyone have growing tips for the Skelly Hashplant, of note? Read here that some of Duke (& SkunkVA?) work is sensitive if not doesn't like humic and fulvic acids and wonder if that applies to Skelly HP as well. She take much to any training very well, too? Growing in coco, using GH nutes. Thanks!

Fulvic and Humic acids are both naturally occuring in soils, so it doesnt make much sense to blame them for a breeders genetic instability issues.
Sounded like Duke/SkunkVA put in time to stabilize their lines, with how happy people are with the plants from accounts here, yet some encountered some humic/fulvic snags so I wasn't sure, being a newer grower and using coco. Not much info on the Skelly, but with it in some of his work thought to ask. Will find out either way, was not easy to come by

Humic acids are crucial to life on earth...it makes zero sense to blame genetic stability on humates. It's like saying you cannot grow their gear well in living soil that is full of humates.

Anyhow, Chemdog has hermaphroditic tendencies, so hybrids of it will possibly have some instability as well.

Thank you for the knowledge. I appreciate your insight, cheers!

Just take a minute to think about where "hash plant" genetics come from. They're exclusively from deserts(based on necessity, as flower will not store and retain quality, for any length of time, in a desert) and the best come from "cold" deserts, ie high elevation. How much humate do you suppose is in a desert? or how much compost do you suppose is able to be created in a desert? It's widely accepted among the old heads that any real kush, creates a way better product, when grown with less compost or humate than other varieties. That said, modern kushs all have NLD genetics bred into them, which would account for the wide benefit of humates. skelly hp on the hand, is more than 30 years old now...

Skelly is a cross of PNWHP, and PNWHP/NL1. It is clone only unles you get S1 seeds, and Ive seen them for sale only 1 time, and that was 3 weeks ago fro El JeFe Gardens. Just so happens I saw them, and jumped on them. There was only 1 pack of 14 or sale. $250.

But like anyhting Humic Acid or otherwise, if you give them to much, it can be detrimental. Duke basic sil mix probably already has all the humic acid the planmt needs, and any more may cause problems.
Skelly aka Puck came from Nevils Hashplant from 1987-88, and was named in 89 is what Ive heard. Cuddlefish Hashplant is Skellys sister.
Crickets and Cicada did a run of the original PNWHP, Skelly, and NL1 genetics that supposedly concentrated the genetics to have more HP phenos than Nevils original cross. Hes supposed to come out with an even more inbred version soon.
I grew out the PNWHP x Puck/NL1 BC1 and can say it was pure fire, and were the best looking Indica plants Ive even seen in 45 years. The plants can get huge for Indca, and produce like a motherfucker. They are more narrow leaf than broadleaf.
I also grew out the Nepali x Puck/NL1 Bc21, and the Sensi Star x Puck/NL1 BC1. All of it was killer stuff, and the plants were structurally superior.

I normally dont buy Feminized/S1 eeds, but like I said, Ive never seen the Skelly/Puck for sale either as a clone, or S1 seeds, and jumped on these. I wanted 3 packs, but there was only 1 pack for sale.

The above plants I grew were outside in native East Ky soil, and the only thing I gave them was 19-19-19, and 0-0-52, along with both Calcitic, and Dolomitic lime. I gave them the 19-19-19-0-0-52 every 6 weeks, and extra epsom salts from late August to October 1st and harvested then from Oct 1st - Oct 15th. Like I said these, especially the PNWHP x Puck/NL1 were the nicest looking Indica plants Ive ever seen.

I didnt take photos, but found photos of the PNWHP x Puck/NL1 that looked about exactly like mine.
These were before flowering. They got arm sized colas. About 6.5ft tall, and as wide, or wider than they are tall.
The stuff was also lung buster. Every hit you will cough your head off.

I just bought 2 more packs of the Skelly HP S1s. I couldnt resist. Ill have 28 of them. The guy at El Jefe who made them says they are hard to grow, and finicky. Says some people dont know what theyre getting into with these, but says they are all very uniform, and about exactly alike. At least he warned me about them being finicky.
Says he has plenty of them left if anyone is interested. Theyre expensive though. $150 for 7 seeds. I got my 1st 14 seeds from Darkstar Genetics, and they were $250 from him. So theyre $50 more dollars from the main source. Darkstar probably has something going on with El Jefe. to sell them a bit cheaper, but those were the last 14 seeds Darkstar had. And that wwas the only pack Darkstar had.
