Size pots for autos?

so I just got my fastbuds seeds in the mail. I got Girl Scout cookies and fastberry. Will be growing them in HF and perlite so none to verylittle nutes should be needed. I know to only transplant them once or put them directly into the pot they will be finishing in. What size pots should I go? I’m growing two in a 2x2x4 tent so not much space.

How many seeds, how big do you want them, what are you using for lights? Those finish quick but you’ll need extra nutes. HF is some good soil, good choice. At least 2 gallon pots

1 seed of each gsc and fastberry autos, so two in a 2x2x4 tent. 300w viparspectra led. And I don’t want them to get past 20”

I have two photos in my tent atm as my first grow in 3gal fabric pots, my main question I guess is will 2gal pots be enough?

For coco a 2 gal pot can achieve the same as 5 gal of soil. For soil od probably recommend the 5 or you'll be complaining about how autos suck. Soil needs room. And as stated you definatley will need nutes as HF is more of a seed starter soil with lite nutes if i remember. Its definatley not as widley used as FFOF but is still a good soil. Just top them in 5 gal and you'll keep size managed but good yeilds still.

I only have a 2x2x4 tent so it’s very limited unfortunately. Two 3gal pots is pushing it. Might have to start them in soil then convert to coco or do a mix coco/hf.

Than you should be smart and get coco asap instead of all the moving around. To each there own, but oeople often complain aboit autos when they try to make them adapt to what the grower wants/has instead of adapting the grow to the autos. Soil grows slower than coco/hydro already so small pots means small plants for sure. Just my 2 cents.

I was thinking about maybe starting them in hf for the first couple weeks in a solo cup, then when I transplant them into 3gal plastic pots convert to coco. Is that a bad idea? I figured this way I wouldn't have to worry about nutes right away and risk burning them.

Thats actually fine. But i wouldn't wait more than 2, 3 weeks max to re pot them. Autos only veg 3-4 weeks plus the 1 week seedling so 4-5 weeks before flower and it will need a few days to a week to recover the re pot. Also i use Royal gold tupar coco. Comes with perlite in it and ready from the bag. No wash. Has lots of good stuff in it and can be watered up to 6x a day in small incriments if you prefer over 1 big one. Its good coco. Also what nites you have? If you want a good 1 part powder from start to finish, Mega Crop has 2 free samples on their site. 230 grm code is on the site and a seperate free sample of 1000grm use a code AFN from Autoflower Network. MC is veey good nutes.

Personally, I'm in 5 gallon DWC buckets. Mine grow to about the same size a totally regular plant would...my profile pic is of them about 30-45 days in..Tran Siberian Auto andTHC Bomb Auto. FastBuds is a good seed bank, their green crack is incredible!

Well im trying different sizes as we speak. I'm looking for that perfect ratio size pot. I want to cram as many small pots into a 2x4 as possible. Topped. Sog or Scrog. Right now im in .5 gal coco. 2 weeks old and they look same size as my 3 gal soil plants. Pretty sure the roots have hit bottom and started to splash out so I guess from here on out ill see if they keep on track with others.

If you’re going SOG make sure you lollipop them soon before they start to flower. I just finished a 26 1 gallon sour D grow that went flawless. In a 5x5 under a 600 watt, I only yield 8 ounces dry because I didn’t lollipop them so a lot of the bud was popcorn. This was the first time I ever tried SOG with auto’s so I didn’t want to stress them. But I have another 15 same strain, lollipoped this time in 2 gallon pots. Not stressed at all they look way bigger, the colas are bigger. It’s all a learning process
