size of pots???

ok i been growing for a while, not long about a year tho..just a question..how big of pots do you need..ive heard that for each month, you need a gallon..so if you let veg for 2 months then flower for another 2+ months youll need a 5 gallon pot..is that true?? im trying to use either 2-3 gallon pots, but only letting them veg for about 1 month..so that would equal around 3 months..i dont want to stress them out or get root rot..but im trying to use more plants just smaller, similar to SOG..maybe about 15-20 plants under 1 1000hps...i am using soil as well..any advice id appreciate it..thanks

20 plants under 1 light will be a squeeze. If you are going to do that, you may want to do 12/12 from seed. What I do is veg for a month in 1 1/2-2 gallon pots, then transplant into 4-5 gallon about a week before switching to 12/12.

-Under a 1000 HPS, use 5 gallon minmum for flowering. There is no 1 gallon per month rule, it's one gallon of soil per foot of plant at harvest, but even that's to general a formula considering LST and the like.

-You're not vegging plants for two months indoors are you? Something is not right with their environment if you are. Grown well, they should be about the size of a small person by then.

-For example ^^^ 20 plants under a 1000 HPS in my room would not get more than a week or two of veg in 1 gallon containers before transplant and going to flower in 3 gallon containers
