I was doing 3 gallon pots, after the grow was chopped i noticed much room left in the pots & were talking 3.5 to 4ft bushes,i started thinking about pot size & read some shit where other growers were using small pots & getting fantastic yeilds.
I then started thinking about why hydro is so much faster than soil,i asked a serious hydro grower on this site & the main reason is oxygen delievery to the root system,i started using 1 gallon pots & watering every other day when they were small & every day once they could use that amount of water.
Increased growth rate all the way.
There is a grow posted somewhere on this site where the dude pulled off an oz per plant using lil red party cups.
Im gonna pull 3.5 ft monsters out of 1 gallon pots this time around & from the looks of it so far i'll shave a week or two off total time to completion.
My new adopted theory on pot size & root bound is that the root system only need be large enough to get the job done then after that its wasted floor space & soil,im placing much more emphasis on oxygen delievery over root mass this go round .
