Dec. 18, flip to 12/12. Photographs run from then until today. The stretch is pretty much done.

I pollenated one cola on each plant this run.

My new 500W LED bar light showed up. It will replace the 300W LED hood, but I gotta move the in-line fan.

Turned into some pretty good smoke 



2nd full run with the 2 gallon sips. I'm happy with how they are performing. The soil seems to have gotten better this round. Only watered with fulvic acid once or twice. Added some Dr Earth Homegrown a few weeks into veg, and Pure Gold once during flower. Gonna top off with fresh soil and ewc's, and get the next round in there. Got a bunch of sativas going this run. I do have a couple pineapple Fields that are female, I think I'm gonna put them in the big sips, they just quit mid flower last time in the 2 gallon sips. They were probably gonna be 12 week minimum, about week 6 or 7 I think they just quit doing anything. Shame, they smelled just like canned pineapple.

You do need to keep on top of feeding and pruning to keep them healthy, but it's not much work at all. I give mine some Alaska 5-1-1 fish fert and liquid kelp every 10-14 days, and prune them way back every 2-3 weeks. Then every 6 months either prune the roots just like that guide shows, or re-clone and start fresh.

Without perlite I hope to use wick fabric ?
I hate perlite it’s hard to get here my last lot went horrid and won’t cleanless than 200ppm I don’t like it

I have fabric 55l pots heavy as shit raised up on drain pipe ends and bread boards to keep the bottom off the floor

will a wick fabric in to the base be enough instead of the normal perlite bed I do ?

Possibly, the only way to find out is to try. Some folks in this thread have done the wicking with strips of fabric for sure.

You might also be able to use vermiculite instead of perlite, if that's available locally. It has different wicking properties than perlite so you may have to adjust your design a bit, but there are definitely examples of vermiculite wicks earlier in this thread. I think they used plastic pipe to make channels for air inside the "bed"...

i really like what yo have done it’s exactly what I was asking about lol first guy in months searching withoutnperlite wooo

mt last perlite bed stank held salts and was impossible to clean without moving beds and with one of em 100gal it wrecked me soil,big move to sort that

I like without as I can shop vac if I need to lol

It's been working real good so far. And it can be adapted to any size reservoir you want. The soil stays wet but not to wet. I've tried letting it get dry enough to lift the bag easily to see how it will wick and it will suck up a gallon within 2 hrs no problem.
Turn out plants like this with little effort. Black Gold Organic, some perlite and amended with DrEarth, top fed two Terp Tea Bloom teas and water only in the reservoir.

My journal is over at another forum and I'm not sure I'm aloud to post a link here but it starts with a very popular date
I should make note I'm using a different feeding this grow, testing out using Prescription Blend Nutrients instead of the teas.
Same soil as last grow, but feeding bottom PBN at 80% strength, and I'll start 50% next feeding, I'll see how the fade starts as we progress.
This Synganics is new to me, but I have a LOT of nutrients I've won in contests and I need to save some cash and use what I have.
Barneys Banana Punch 32 days at flip and then 3 weeks later LST no topping, 6 more weeks to fatten up


For the most part I'm on the wetter side than dry this grow, I experimented with adding some rice hauls along with the perlite and it seems to be staying a bit wetter than the last run with out it, same soil. I lifted two of the four wicks out of the water and they are wicking at what I assume is a good enough rate to keep the plants nice and healthy. I've been growing 14 years and swore off experimenting way to many times, but the quest for the best is the test!!!

as for your dry spots, maybe totally submerge that plant in a big tub for a few minutes, and then let it drain and start the wicking after a few days.

Now running a lush 50 gallon living bed sitting on top of a 16 gallon reservoir with a scrog net sitting overtop of the whole setup. Just transplanted 2 clones into the bed with 2 more waiting on sex to show before transplanting. All is good in the laundry room now
