Sinking Seeds

i put my one seed in a container of water to germinate it. and when i looked at it today it was at the bottom when yesterday, it was afloat. is this normal? should i take the seed out of the water or just let it do its thing till it cracks?

that's what a good seed will do, float for a while, then sink
i let them crack the taproot until it moves a bit out of the shell

alright thanks. i moved it into a sponge because i wasnt sure. :/ should i put it back in the water?

i do sprout in water, it works for me - never used a sponge, not sure what advantages it offers

i always use the papertowel method once they sink to the bottom in theory there germinated but i always wait for the tap root

Don't place it back in the water. Once it sinks, then move it to moist paper towels. Good luck!

Yah, you know, it totally just makes zero sense to start a seed in the media you're going to be growing in.

i normally let my tap root get big before i even put in medium then i put it in with tweezers

The reason it sank is because its slightly cracked..Hence the reson why it sank because the casing filled with water..Within 24hrs you should see a tap root from a sinker...
