i know it causes minimal stress.

if i have regular opposed to fem seeds will it decrease my f/m ratio? i was thinking about doing it after sexing but id like to do it before for obv reasons.

im about to top these things im 2 or 3 weeks away from flower, anyone wanna stop me?

Im a little confused by your question. If your asking whether topping/fimming will affect the sex of your plant, then the answer is no. Topping and fimming has no effect on the sex of a plant.

I suggest not topping during flowering. Generally you should top/fimm atleast a week away from transitioning to flower in order to give your girls some recovery time.

Is there a specific reason you are topping/fimming?

im topping above the second node for four colas, im experimenting with half of the plants. im also topping a couple above the first node for 2 colas and a couple around the 5 or 6 node to see what happens. i plan on fimming a couple also.

my question is regarding stress. too much stress in my understanding would encourage a plant to be a male. these advanced techniques stress a plant to a certain amount. so should this only be done when using clones and fem seeds?

If this is experimental, then deff go for it. Keep in mind that males are the best plants to experiment with. In my opinion, you should learn something from every plant you grow regardless of sex.

Jorge Cervantes wrote a good article on that four cola method, he doesnt really get into it in the bible. Very interesting stuff though, wish I could link the article.

I wouldnt be concerned with the stress factor. Topping doesnt really create all that much stress, It more less just shifts around the auxins. Just be sure to give your plant enough time to recover. Also, if your going for the four cola method, I would be preparing to tie down those four branchs. After you top, they are going to stretch like crazy. The further apart those four branchs are, the better the result will be. Just my 2 cents.
