This might sound stupid.


I usually grow in soil.


After looking at videos of this, doesn't it "drown" the roots/plants?


haha. I am a complete novice as I am only on my first grow.


I have a couple of these my Nan gave to me in fully working order.


Also, which works better? NFT or this?

The reason the plant doesn't drown is 2 fold.
1 - a shit-load of O2 is added to the water via the bubbles, and
2 - not all the roots are in the water, just what's below the pot.


I like DWC, it's modular, easy to set up, move and maintain.

I think most people go 18 on 6 off (but don't turn off the air, even though the kratky method has been shown to prove that air isn't entirely necessary).
