Signs of overwatering?

Quick question for all those with some experience growing from seed.

I feel like I'm overwatering my plants and I say this because of the following -
- stunted growth
- yellow/pale leaves (it's not nute burn b/c they aren't getting nutes)

The seedlings are under a 400w MH light in foxfarm happy frog soil under lights 24/7. I was thinking it could be an effect of the lights being on 24/7 as well. Temps are fine - between 65 and 85 and humidity is around 50%.

Please comment.

how old are your babies? you should start nutes 3 weeks into the grow. i bring this up because yellowing leaves is often a sign of a nitrogen deficiency and doesn;t look like overwatering at all (droopy leaves).

Sorry I should have been more specific - they are less than 3 weeks old and are getting RO water which has been ph adjusted to about 6.0.

I keep seeing all these pictures of what people's plants look like at 2 or 3 weeks under CFLs and T5s and i've got mine under a 400w MH and mine are measly in comparison. Supposedly the soil has enough nutes for 3w so I was laying off them. I did try to water with 1/4 strenghth and they started to show signs of nute burn (brown tips, etc).

I really noticed it because I just germinated some seeds and the leaves are VERY green compared to my plants that are ~2 weeks old.

When ever I do not know how often to water my plants because I changed soil brand or what ever, I just water the plant, then let it go with no water at all until it starts to droop, If that takes like 5 days, then I know to water in 4 days.

What size pots do you have them in?

The pots are very small - I want to say quart size - they are square pots about 4 inches across and probably 5 or 6 inches deep. Let me see if I can dig up a pic. The thing is I had some plants in larger pots and the same thing happened.

here's a pic of the pot and plant at 4d old. Plant is now ~18d old and it just seems like growth REALLY slowed down.

transplant it, it could be rootbound. should do better in a bigger pot. g/l

I am sorry, that little plant is not root bound. Stay with the little Pot. But then again he says it is 18 days old. Transplant your plants when they get about 4-5 inches tall. I want my plants a little root bound before I do the first transplant.

Looking at that picture, it looks like you only give it a very little amount of water right at the stem of the plant. I would do this. Fill your sink with about 3 inches of water. Ph that water to about 6.8 and stick your plants in the sink for 10 minutes. Then every 3 days water it until you see water coming out the bottom. From that picture i would say you are not watering it enough. AS IN AMOUNT OF WATER. You need to get all the soil moist, not just at the stem.
