Yep, clip the sponges in half. I wish I'd done that from the start.

i think its too late for me to do that, two of my seedlings are sprouted a good bit..will it harm the growth if i dont cut it in half?

wouldnt worry about shocking the plants, 
they can take alot of handling. I had to move the damn things around all over the place and they all ended up growing, now i have to worry about where im going to grow them

UPDATE11/29/08
Day 3 from seed
Whats up, all is goin good, all the seeds except for the BK has sprouted, it is about to break from the shell, still havnt got my Air Pump, and still need to get some extra CFL's. I lowered the light a lil more since most have sprouted. Will wait another day for the BK and the OGK to grow a lil more before I chuck them into 18/6, and yes i kno i need to cove the holes, but im using them so i kno when the pump is on, again srry for the big pic, there pretty small so i figured this way yall can see em better
OOG(orange og), MS(med seed), BK(banana kush), TW(trainwrek), and OGK(og kush)
starting from the Top left, the OrangeOG still hasnt left cracked the seed off, next is the MS, is doing ok, again had to re plant all of em into the AG, stem is a lil thin comapred to the rest, next is the BK, the best looking so far, nice purple shade on the stem 
, bottom left is the TW, lookin good, standing up tall and strong so far, and last but not least is the OGK, is growing a lil weird, havin a lil trouble break the shell, so the first two leafs are like off to the side a lil bit, wish me luck

Looking good man. Be sure to get something to cover the empty pods. I've been using duct tape.

yo whats up...looking good so far...one thing i found growing with the aerogarden from seed is the roots get outrageous...but i love growing with the aerogarden though...i will be watching good luck..

Sicc! congratulations on your new babies man. As for the one who hasnt sprouted yet, give it time / also i realized that your hood dosent have to be so close to the top of the plants might cause some burning or heat issues no? from the stage they were in the last pic to initial growth (veg stage) they are going to shoot up. so technically you can 18/6 from germination anyways. Your the man dude keep up the good work, im excited to see them come up.

no heat problems that have noticed, they good sprouted ones are standing up pretty firm, i'll move it up a lil bit, going to switch to 18/6 probably tommorrow some time, good lookin out

MINI UPDATE
Well I lost the OGK, jut wasnt growing, the tap root was just greenw ith no white, so i think that part got ripped off, on how it happend im not sure, I am thinking of germing another on my random Med seeds since i dont really want to waste another OGK seed untill my next grow, so my question is should i germ another seed to stick with the 4 i have left in the AG, again i am tring to max it out at 4 females

id say start another seed. your odds of having the 4 females will be better that way.
